#1 Book Project: The 'everyday' life of a scientist

The ‘everyday’ life of a scientist
For many years I’ve had the urge to write a book. There is a story that wants to get out, a story that has urged me to start writing. But for years there was something missing, I did not know how to end it in a satisfying way. It was like the story wasn’t finished yet. This confused me enormously, I felt like I had to start immediately, but also felt this immense roadblock. This year everything changed, the story continued and came to a clear finish. Now, I felt, it is time to get it out of my system, to let the story write itself.
It is a true story and it happened to me, therefore the book will be autobiographic in nature. However, it will not be my autobiography, it is about the story.
My thought was to write it here, directly on Steemit. Now, mind you, I have never written a book before so I have no idea how this will work out. Maybe it will be a great success or maybe it will be a total catastrophe. Only time will tell. So I will irregularly put new material on here for you to read. If there are any writers among you, don’t be shy to give me feedback about writing style or my English. English is not my mother tongue, so corrections are valuable.
You will get the raw text, unedited. I’m sure a lot of editing will be needed to make a final product and some of my writings may not be included in the final.
The story recount some of my experiences of the last 22 years. The Monroe Institute played a major role in part of the story and I consider it a home away from home. The experiences I’ve had may be totally unbelievable for many of you, but they really happened.
To start it all of: here is the first ‘teaser’ chapter…
The ‘everyday’ life of a scientist
Chapter 1
What would You do as a well grounded scientist, you wake up one day to a different world? Would you stick your head into the sand and forget about it? Or would you take up courage and start to investigate? Now these investigations can lead to personal verifications, but seldom to ‘hard scientific evidence’ with the result that when talking about your thoughts, experiences and personal verifications you will be the target of much ridicule. So would you do it? As I have learned, no, probably not, most people feel safe in the world they know and will easily disregard any anomalous experiences, not fitting in their image of how the world works. Your brain will quickly step in to assist you in this, censoring the experience as a rapidly fainting dream after you just awoke, turning everything back to ‘normal’ again.
