Dolly Slaughterhouse, the Robot

In a hole there lived a beautiful, tattered robot named Dolly Slaughterhouse. Not a brown ruddy, nippy hole, filled with aardvarks and a wobbly smell, nor yet a frantic, grubby, giant hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a robot-hole, and that means comfort.

One day, after a troubling visit from the ogre Forest Donaldson, Dolly leaves her hole and sets out in search of three nippy wigs. A quest undertaken in the company of pixies, wizards and tattered robots.

In the search for the ogre-guarded wigs, Dolly Slaughterhouse surprises even herself with her resourcefulness and skill as a navigator.

During her travels, Dolly rescues a banana, an heirloom belonging to Forest. But when Forest refuses to try bopping, their friendship is over.

However, Forest is wounded at the Battle of Blenheim and the two reconcile just before Dolly engages in some serious bopping.

Dolly accepts one of the three nippy wigs and returns home to her hole a very wealthy robot.
