REDEFINING CHARITY AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WITH CRYPTASSIST

PREFACE

My last article on Cryptassist gave an overview about Cryptassist and her many applications and features here: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@karlblaise/cryptassist-the-awaited-future-of-cryptocurrency. In the article, we made mention of the Cryptassist “Philanthropy Innovation”; an application who’s features were designed to mitigate the many challenges facing charity donations and harnessing the many opportunities in Charity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to cater for the needs of the less privileged.
In today’s article; we’ll be giving out some social statistics on the global population, reflecting the societal and economic impact on the less privileged; suggest and elaborate on the possible approaches to be taken in resolving such challenges, discuss the prominent challenges and then see what Cryptassist has to offer in terms of technology and strategy in advancing the course of Charity and Philanthropy.

INTRODUCTION

In a world of 7.6 billion people with 50% of the people living on less than $2.50 per day, while another 20% controls three quarter of the world income; it beggars for a strategic and urgent solution to create a better living condition for everyone. While our various government gets preoccupied with spending trillions of dollars on war related equipment rather than uplifting the living standard of the people; should we fold our hands and just watch?
According to UNICEF; the global population of children stands at 2.2billion; with 1.9 billion of them coming from the developing nations. Amongst this 1.9 billion;

• 1/3rd of them are without adequate shelter,
• 1/5th , have no access to safe water,
• 1/7th, have no access to basic health services.
• 22,000 of the children die daily as a result of poverty,
• 72 million children of basic education age are not in school,
• 350 – 500 million cases of malaria have been reported with 1 million fatality, annually
• 1.1 billion People in developing countries have inadequate access to water; with 1.8 million of the children dying annually from diarrhea as a result.

In this situation as reflected above; the need to show love to one another via generous giving and aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of the less privileged, becomes a necessity. This can be achieved through Charity and Corporate Social Responsibility. Charity and CSR may be a familiar term for most; but for easier following let elaborate a bit

CHARITY

They are those things we do willingly to show our heartfelt love in ameliorating the sufferings of the less privileged in our society. Such acts include;

• Donating money, goods, etc. to Nonprofits to help in the provision of basic necessities like food, water, clothing,
  education, healthcare, etc.
• Visitations to prison inmates,
• Giving out information and other measures aimed at preventing wars and epidemics;
• Funding health and technology related researches that will help improve lives, e.g. Malarial Vaccine research.

These donations are normally channeled to nonprofit/Charity organizations; who utilizes them in the provision of the necessary amenities needed for the less privileged.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)

As seen in charity; companies also display similar virtue through a show of responsibility such as;

• Taking part in ecological management,
• Academic and health support through the building of schools and hospitals,
• Fair and ethical handling of employees,
• Donations, etc.

These services come as an organizational policy enshrined in the business model of companies and currently factored into an international private business regulation. This approach helps in removing some societal bottlenecks, strengthening a company’s brand, increasing customer loyalty and sales and help in making the company involved, more attractive to potential and qualified employees.
While Charity and CSR may appear to be the same thing; it may be helpful to note that charity is free willed and not regulated as seen in CSR. Again; the end result for charity negates profits, unlike the CSR which reinforces the corporate brand, commands customer loyalty and improved sales, etc.

THE NEED FOR CRYPTASSIST

With the unwavering challenges plaguing the act of charity; Cryptassist has decided to wade into the challenges with so much optimism that the deployment of blockchain and other relevant technologies and strategies contained in “Philanthropy Innovation” will go a long way to boost charity and CSR donations; management and accountability of the system.

CURRENT CHALLENGES FACED IN THE SECTOR

In the areas of Charity and CSR; the following parameters has proven a challenge to an accountable, transparent and well organized system:

• SIZE AND VISIBILITY: There are some Nonprofits/charity organizations that are doing great jobs out there; but remain relatively unknown owing to financial constraints and knowledge gap in utilizing the much needed digital potential.
  We hope our platform will give them that needed publicity and the opportunity to raise the needed fund that will enable them carve out a strong brand for themselves in becoming relevant

• INCOME: Nonprofits needs stable funding and possible increment of available donations and grants to develop her resources and innovations to make the needed societal impact.
  “Philanthropy innovation” will give them that opportunity to get the needed funding and soar.

• CREDIBILITY: There is always going to be a reason to believe in a nonprofit to encourage donations. With the needed transparency in financial management and the visible proof on the delivery of the needed Charity impact, “Philanthropy Innovation will be doing a whole lot of good to the genuine charity organizations by creating an environment that will encourage donors.

• SPECIALTY, PERFORMANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Following media campaign and publicity stunt can make one donate wrongly. “Philanthropy innovation” has a database of organizational ideals, beliefs and structure in delivering better value in some fields. As the need for donations increases, there’s need for accompanying performance details being communicated rather than giving irrelevant and sketchy reports. Cryptassist hopes our relevant application does justice to this by granting the needed transparency aimed at boosting true charity.

• FRAUD: The high level of confidence in nonprofits and other positively oriented impact from them can make them a veritable tool in defrauding people without leaving any trace of suspicion. “Philanthropy innovation” will tighten such loopholes to ensure men and women of goodwill doesn’t fall prey to such acts.

• EFFICIENCY: With limited resources and the unwavering need for more; there is an obvious need to ensure that organizations are acting as efficiently as possible to ensure strategic financial management. “Philanthropy innovation” has the needed tool to ease your financial management needs.

• Create a customized options for donations; from where donors can opt for the nonprofits they want to donate
• Provide the ability to track your donations in real time and sharing same on social media
• Allows Nonprofits to share varied levels of information with donors, foundations and corporations
• Create an open ledger based donations and compensations using the blockchain
• Helping out the nonprofits in processing financials and report generations
• Automated provision of reports to parties involved, etc.

To crown it all; this application has been made free for all participants; with the obvious assurance that the transparency, credibility and accountability being encouraged by this app, will bring about a renewed confidence in charity and a resultant uplifting of the less privileged.
