"Want to join? There is still quota to join bro" Suddenly, there is a Whatsapp message from my friend, and there is an invitation to drink coffee together, not ordinary coffee, but Ie Jok Coffee. Ie Jok is Acehnese language for water Nira, Nira is the sweet liquid from the sap of flowers palm tree, usually from Aren trees. Nira water is very familiar for me. I can find this water almost every area there in Indonesia. Nira water is very fresh. Usually most of people drunk cold Nira in hot weather.
Nira mix with coffee, wow I cant imagine, it can be good taste or bad taste. I am very curius. Well, I decided to join.

"Mau ikut? Masih ada quota tuh" tiba-tiba ada pesan dari Whatsapp salah seorang teman, di ikuti broadcast undangan ngopi. Kubaca berlahan dan seksama. Sebuah undangan untuk ngopi bareng, bukan kopi biasa, tapi Kopi Ie Jok. Ie Jok adalah bahasa Aceh untuk air Nira, yaitu cairan manis dari getah bunga pohon palm biasanya pohon Aren. Air Nira bagiku sudah biasa, air Nira ini hampir bisa dijumpai disetiap daerah di Indonesia. Minuman ini terkenal akan kesegarannya. Biasanya diminum dingin-dingin saat cuaca terik.
Nira dicampur dengan kopi, Wah, aku tak bisa membayangkannya, bisa jadi rasanya ok, atau sebaliknya. Hmnn.. Aku penasaran dibuatnya. Baiklah, aku ikuti ajakan ini.

19.30 pm, I have arrived at the location. A coffee shop named eL Comandante, in Batoh area, Banda Aceh. The atmosphere is quite crowded. Most of them are young people. The place is cozy and comfortable. Not long time waiting, the participants appeared. Most of the participants I known well. It's time I greeted them. We were deep into easy dialog, laughing and joking. Kak Nuu as the initiator, expressed his gratitude for our arrival and we were invited to witness a Barista make Ie Jok Coffee. Soon we headed for the barista's table.

19.30 pm, aku telah tiba di lokasi. Sebuah kedai kopi bernama eL Comandante, dikawasan Batoh, Banda Aceh. Suasana cukup ramai. Sebagian besar adalah anak muda. Tempat ini bersih dan nyaman. Tak lama, tampak peserta berdatangan. Sebagian besar peserta sudah saya kenal dengan baik. Saatnya aku menyapa mereka. Kami larut dalam obrolan, tertawa dan bercanda. Kak Nuu sebagai penggagas, mengucapkan terimakasih atas kedatangan kami dan kami diajak untuk menyaksikan seorang Barista meramu Kopi Ie Jok. Segera kami menuju meja sang barista.

We were right in front of the barista table. In front of us we have available 15 empty glasses. I am very enthusiastic and can not wait to watch. The Barista was ready at the table. And he was in action. I watched step by step how to barista mix Coffee and Ie Jok.

Kami berada tepat didepan meja barista. Dihadapan kami telah tersedia 15 buah gelas kosong. Aku sendiri sangat antusias dan tak sabar untuk menyaksikan. Sang Barista telah siap di depan meja. Dan iapun beraksi. Kuperhatikan tahap demi tahap sang barista meracik Kopi dan Ie Jok.

1. First Step - Langkah Pertama

The first step is to fill the glass that has been provided with liquid sugar.
Tahap pertama adalah mengisi gelas yang telah disediakan dengan gula cair.

2. Second Step - Langkah Kedua

Langkah kedua adalah memasukkan batu es ke dalam gelas yang sudah berisi gula cair tadi.

3. Third Step - Langkah ketiga

Berikutnya adalah memasukkan air Nira ke dalam gelas. Air Nira ini sebelumnya telah disimpan di dalam lemari es.

Yang keempat atau yang terakhir adalah memasukkan kopi. Seduhan kopi arabica panas yang telah di press.
