Blog: my strange but fun experience in the mountains
Today I'm going to tell you about the first time I climbed a mountain, it was a tragedy, I came up with shoes, I went down without shoes and without socks..
I had decided with my three friends Javier, Fernando and Victor to climb "El Morro" is the highest mountain in my town. we got up early after having partied the night before. I woke up, I took a shower, I had breakfast, I took my things and I left ...
Saturday 6:00 AM I walked from my house to the "Plaza Bolivar" is the main square of the city, it is not far from my house so I decided to walk while I smoked cigarette, I saw the streets alone, it really seemed like a pretty interesting panorama see a sunrise through the city very early without people around.
I was the first to arrive at the square, minutes later my friends arrived, only other guys were missing to complete the group, because the road to the hills is often dangerous and it is better to go in a large group, all the group was complete. and we took the bus to "Banco Obrero" is one of the largest neighborhoods in the city and also one of the most dangerous.
We arrived and started to walk. It took about 40 minutes, we went walking and talking among so many things we arrived at the exact place where the entrance to the hill.
We started to climb the first stretch of the mountain, it was amazing steep we passed trees, swamps, among other things. everything seemed to go well until we got to the second section of the mountain and Victor began to sweat a lot, the truth did not seem strange to me victor walks from his house to the corner and it is already marred with sweat literally, we kept walking until Víctor started to feel bad. I could not breathe maybe it was height, Victor is asthmatic which is weird because he is a cigarette smoker, he recovered and said he could go on. We kept going up about 5 minutes later it became bad again. Fernando Javier and I told the rest of the group to continue climbing the mountain, we waited to see if Víctor recovered but he did not, we decided to go down to the city and take him home, he did not want to leave he wanted to keep going up. obviously we do not leave it, and we decided to go down to the city again. After we got to the road to return to the city a man picked us up in a jeep offered to take us to the city.
already after we were in the city we were waiting for a taxi to send Victor home. I called her mom to tell her what had happened and tell her that Victor was on the way.
We were Fernando Javier and me. We decided to go back up the mountain we did not want to stay with the desire to climb the mountain. After an hour and a half walking we reached the first stretch of the mountain, it was terribly exhausting to get there again. but we kept climbing until we reached the same point where Victor gave his asthma attack. We were tired yet they were missing a lot. but we continue and we reach the foot of the mountain. there were some strange stairs and we started to climb them. climbing those stairs was difficult, they are held by metal cables are very dangerous, they wobble on the sides with the breeze or with the weight. Many people have died trying to climb them are incredibly high, I remember that when I was in school a girl died last year falling from the stairs fell into the void of the mountain could find the remains of his body scattered by several sharp rocks. in fact, this mountain has many victims.
When we were going down the middle of the road, the group we were coming down with came down, Fernando and I stayed on a rock that was on the edge of the abyss, although it seemed safe, we stayed there so that the others would go down, once they had gone on we kept going up, and as we went up the stairs they were more dangerous and complicated, the stones were so sharp and the soles of my shoes were already getting fucked. In spite of that and finally we reached the top of the mountain, it was already 1:30 pm we lost tods the morning climbing the mountain, but it was worth the view is amazing, the town looks smaller from that height, there is still room to make the city more big. We rested, we ate, we took pictures and we went up to the lighthouse and it was something traumatizing the structure is old and with the wind it was quite wobbly, after resting, eating and taking decided pictures to go down. It was already too late we went down the dark stairs, it was even more frightening than uploading them. we had to get down on our backswe keep climbing the stairs with care
Going down those back stairs was more dangerous than climbing them. We began to descend the stairs slowly. we stopped in Juan's cave, it's a kind of cave where a bled tourist died when he cut his leg vein with a can of sardines and tried to go down the stairs he died bleeding. As I said this mountain has many victims.
We were finally able to go down the stairs. and we started down the mountain running and jumping from one side to the other. It was dangerous but fun, we had to hurry, it was too late and it was getting dark, we went down the mountain and we reached the road in a matter of minutes. and we started walking fast, we did not have much energy to keep running. and we began to walk quickly along that road, it is a very dangerous road and we heard motorcycles approaching we were dead of thirst, and we found a house where he sold ice cream, we stopped to buy ice cream and we asked for water to recover energy. and we were walking normal we had already passed the dangerous part. We were close to the working-class bank district. and by that time I no longer had shoes I was changing in hahahaha socks, we were sore and tired, we got to town and could not keep walking.
I had blisters to go down the mountain in socks and I did not want to keep walking, so I told the boys to take a taxi to my house and from there they left, we lived nearby. We took a taxi and we went home tired and hungry and sore, I bathed, I ate and I went to bed. This experience was terrible I went up and down the blanket twice practically, I ended up with sting of mosquitoes, I walked a long distance in hahahha socks It was a terrible but fun experience. that has not succeeded in taking away the adventurous spirit.
Together with my friends we have experienced crazy experiences, maybe they are telling them. I like to share this kind of stories with you, we read in the following post.
