Friendship
The longing sometimes forces me into a tight corset, stifling my breath
and will not let me sleep. Time and again, life puts stones in my path
which I can not clear away on my own, always taking away the distance
the hope, though sometimes the spatial, sometimes the spiritual and
sometimes the physical proximity is there. And again and again takes the loneliness
owned by my thinking, does not let me out of their clutches.
Although I'm not lonely.
But again and again, when I need you, then you are there, wake me up
out of my despair and give me strength.
Your friendship lets me know that there is more than human
normally experienced.
Thank you for being there - and thank you for being there for me -
especially when I need you, even if you often do not know it.
