Documentary Review Making a Murderer P2 E8 Special Care
Another thing about the magically appearing bullet is it had wax on it, and little hairs consistent with a swab. Guess who collected a chapstick form Teresa's belongings? Wiegert.
Meanwhile the 3 judge panel of the 7th circuit affirms the State must retry Brendan within 90 days or set him free. Looks like Rovner and Williams were the voices of reason on that one, with Hamilton, a little slow on the take being the dissent. It's amazing how with all the laws and lawyers out there how often you find the word reasonable pop up. The majority decision affirming judge Duffin's ruling says, "no reasonable court could have any confidence that this was a voluntary confession."
Despite 2 written opinions overturning his conviction the State files a motion to keep him in prison. The 7th circuit agrees.
Wisconsin attorney general Schimel says on television they will seek an "en banc" review by the 7th circuit. Apparently, if you lose in a 3 judge review you can request another review by all the judges comprising that circuit. This is rare but granted to Wisconsin in Brendan's case.
Brendan's brother.
While Teresa was at Steven's, Brendan's brother Bobby was scoping her out from his window. He says he eventually leaves to go hunting while the rav4 is still there but no sign of Teresa. When he comes home after hunting there is no rav4. Brendan's other brother is on the record saying that Bobby said "Steven could not have killed her because I saw her leave the property on October 31, 2005." Read than again, please. Bobby tells a witness he saw Teresa leave. Brother Bryan should have been called to the stand to impeach Bobby's testimony.
Kathleen's investigator talks to Bobby but doesn't get much. Until he reminds Bobby that the police have the hard drive of his computer. This rattles Bobby for good reason. What was found on that hard drive was morbid. Strang and Buting were never given this forensics report. This is a huge Brady violation, evidence withheld.
Lied on the stand?
