Gratitude Day 7: Sleeping Child
NOTE PLEASE: This is going to be a long post but the reading is worth it. You can pick a thing or two out from it.
This past weekend, I imagined what it felt like to be a parent after engaging in a manhunt. Oops, sorry. Baby hunt lol. I attended a religious program that had more than 2600 persons in attendance. Part of those in attendance included all ages. And toddlers were there too. During, the break time however, one of the toddlers left under the Dad's care strolled away from the dad when he was busy chatting away with friends.
When the mother of the child came back from the errand she was attending to, she couldn't see her child of less than 2years old. Gosh, anxiety set in, and panicking took over the fun chat the husband was having that made him not to realize when the baby went on AWOL (ABSENCE WITH OUT LEAVE).
Being a family friend to them, they called me to inform me of the situation on ground. A search team was set up immediately so that the baby can be searched for discreetly without causing further tension on the entire audience.
The parents of the baby became news reporters by default immediately as they had to explain to every Dick, Tom and Harry 😂 that demands explanation.
After about 3hours of searching without any success, the mother almost broke down in tears. She was seen physically shaking. As events will turn out, the baby didn't even walk too far away from where they were sitting. The funny part was that the baby slept off under a seat, and it took the observation of another woman to notice that the child has been lying down there unattended to for a long time and she called the attention of one of the Ushers around to inform him what she observed.
Viola, it was the Baby. Everyone was happy thereafter, and I only imagined the joy of the Mother as she hugged her baby so tightly.
I am grateful the baby was found at last, although it was not fun during the search.

This really got me... I work as a children teacher (3-5years) in church... You have to always keep your eyes on them if not they'll go missing.. This last Sunday, I was on my way to my class when I saw a 3years old toddler walking down the stairs alone, immediately I knew she had left her class without her teacher knowing which will result to parents panicking , I took her back to her class meanwhile,her teacher didn't even realize she was missing..

I wonder what is going on in those little minds of theirs sometimes. Where do they think they are going to? 😀
They are easily carried away by small things, In their little mind is freedom ....
While for parents sometimes is stress and anxiety.
That may be the fact :)

Yea, everyone was disturbed until the baby was found. To even add salt to the injury, some persons started complaining about seeing some badly dressed individuals. Lol. It was funny at the end of the day
