SELF DESTRUCTION IN SEARCH FOR FAME

Daniel a young man in his early twenty’s wanted to have a normal life like every Nigerian, went to a technical collage acquired the certificate, but on graduating no job. “ what can I do” he thought to himself, but nothing good could come out from his thought.

Searching for job got him frustrated that he became an alcoholic and a smoker, a year later he got a job curious on how was going to secure his job he was involve in ritual practices and every sort of spiritism. Not so long after his involvement he became wealthy had enough money and got married but was living in a room apartment which he could not move out from because he has fetish things (juju) planted in the house on knowing to the wife.

Two years after their marriage they gave birth to a son, but now a sacrifice is needed to renew his charm for wealth, and his just married wife was required for the sacrifice. On the eve of the sacrifice he got drunk as usual, using it as a pretence in other for the wife not to figure out his plan but unfortunately for him he talked too much and his plans were uncovered.
Daniels wife having knowledge of the danger she is in, immediately parked her bag in other to flee the compound but Daniel caught notice of her action and immediately seized the child from her, but she cared less because her life was in danger so she abandoned the boy and fled for her life. Daniel struggling for a means of the sacrifice lost his job again.

Daniel went back to the ritualist to seek a second chance because not providing the human sacrifice means he was going to die, luckily for him he was given a second chance, and he later got a new job 6 months later this time in better company compared to his previous and was welled paid but no wife just him and his son so had to get another wife to care for the son, two months after searching for he got one who was married before but divorced the husband.

Daniel and his new bride enjoying their marriage life but suffering the infant child because he wasn’t her's, Daniel cared less all he wanted was a wife and doesn’t care if the son dies or not, The wife on the other hand supported his spiritistic practices making both of them “bird of a feather “ his fame increased built a mansion in his village bought a car it still could not park out from his one room apartment due to his buried charm.

4 years after marriage they gave birth to a baby girl named her precious family came rejoiced and further sacrifices were carried out, and life was merry for Daniel who became proud and stepped on anyone who trespasses not minding the level of the person 14 years went by with his evil activity and prominence in his society people scared of him knowing fully well what he can do, but unfortunate for him the day of reckoning was by the corner a sacrifice is needed again for him to live long this time his dear wife again was required but because both were involve I ritual practice the wife knew she was needed for sacrifice.

Several attempt to use her prove abortive because she also had protective charms for herself, but the charms could not hold for long, she has no option than to run for her life abandoning her child as well, the situation became critical that Daniel had to visit the ritualist to present a different option his daughter, his request was granted, but in other to do it he needs to have sexual relations with the daughter to complete the sacrifice.

On faithful night after indulging in heavy drinking as usual came home went in to pretend as if he was sleeping when it was late in the night he slept with the daughter in other for the ritual to work the daughter was supposed not to talk about it but immediately the next morning she cried to her neighbours explaining how her father has defiled her, immediately the father began to sick, that same week was fired from his job his bank account was frozen, two weeks later he began to swell, members of his family came took him to the village to inquire from their gods what has caused his misfortune.

That was when he began to confess how he has been using people for ritual to get fame and live longer, but his last attempt was with his daughter which backfired and is what is killing him, before arrangement could be made to cleanse him he died instantaneously. All the wealth he acquired were unable to save him, he was unable to live the flamboyant life that he wanted, if only he was patient enough he would lead a better life.
