The dark whale

It was a cold friday morning, where Mr Devin wss still in bed using his cell phone as usual. He is busy reading memes and watching movie teasers off Instagram. Hours have passed, almost getting to noon but he could still be heard in his room laughing at several posts, well you can say he is really amusing himself. He got tired and slept back off, well you won't blame him because its a holiday and he's rocking his free time.
Ring Ring Ring his phone rang, on flipping the screen off the bed, he saw it was @pasaift and he picked up the call. Pasaift was all like "Hey doverun, there is a platform out there filled with whales and just catching if it's just one will fetch you good some of money.

"Wow!" Devin exclaimed, he thought of the possibility of catching a lot, he had a lot on his mind. He thought of his current financial issues, he said to himself "This is it", he took his gears and he dashed to the platform.

On reaching the platform, he saw lots of people there already all waiting to make a catch.

Devin took a boat, he sailed it to an open spot and dropped his tasty bait waiting to make a catch. It's over an hour now and still nothing, he swings his line vigorously into other parts of the water.

He didn't even pay any attention to the rules and safety before advancing to catch a whale. He kept disturbing the water which attracted a dark whale from the deep which swallowed his tools and almost got him too, he swam to the shore panting. He became a laughing stock, everyone kept laughing at him and believe me, that did hurt his reputation. With a mean face, he thought to himself "I've got to do this right".

The next day, he paid a visit to an information broker who said he is also a witness and has witnessed the catch of several whales in the deep blue and then he said "Am here to help new people like you". He handed a piece of paper to Mr Devin which contains a list of whales, spots they could be found and how to prepare a tasty bait that will attract them.
Devin decided to go back home to study the paper that has been given to him. the list was still long and he is surprised at the amount of whales out there that he couldn't even make a catch in his first day. He said to himself "Anyway, maybe they didn't like the smell of my bait, I've got to make pretty sweet ones this time around". He went over to the kitchen, used the recipe to prepare hot saucy bait, kept them in a vacuum flask for the next day.
Throughout the night, he was just blissful, having thought of himself catching several whales the next day. After a short while, he fell asleep having a dream where he met a friendly whale that he swam with to the end of the ocean.

On waking up the next day, he was just blissful, maybe it'swas because of his dream and he was really having a smiling face.
As he prepared his gears, he sings 🎶Oh! Happy day...🎵On reaching the platform, he could see people swimming with the whale they found.

On seeing this, he re assured himself that'shis gonna get some today. On putting his bait in the water, he sat calmly although his hands kept shaking because he kept thinking about his reaction time when a whale swallows his bait and pulling it quickly as he expected swarm of whales around his bait in no time. Focused on his fishing rod, he heard someone crying out "IT'S A WHALE! IT'S A WHALE!!" he looked up quickly thinking someone is alerting him that a whale is coming for his bait. On finding out that it was some guys close to him that caught one, he cheered them up, but he's now sad that he haven't caught any for days.

He sighted a whale that came to the surface far away, he switched on his engine and zoomed off to where he saw the whale, he threw his bait into the water quickly so at least the whale will sense it and come back but it didn't.
He felt a little pull on his fishing rod which he ignored, the pull became stronger and he quickly reeled back and found out he has caught a fish although it wasn't his expectation, but at least he caught something.

There is a loud noise in a distance that felt loke people where fighting. The noise drew a lot of attention, everyone is watching this set of people that came together for a goal, which is to catch whales. With the way they dived at the whale, Devin though to himself "These people are truly talented".

Devin though of how nice it will be for him to be in a group like those he just saw and then he remembered he came across some minnows-support ships he saw when sailing to his current location. The ships were catching whales effortlessly.

It's getting late already, Devin took the fish he caught and went back to the information broker. He complained that he spent hours to create his bait and didn't still catch a whale . The information broker told him that whales don't feed on bait that taste or smell like those they have eaten before, its only unique smell that attracts them and you have to be creative to make something special and rare. On hearing this, Devin went home sad, almost giving up but when he remembered what he saw earlier in the day (those talented guys that were diving on a whale), it motivated him.
He went to his kitchen, thought really hard on what to prepare and finally came out with something. "This should be unique, i hope i get some whales tomorrow" he said.
It's morning already and Devin wishes to find some lovely whales.
