Missing Beach 33 Years Ago Appears

The villagers of Dooagh on Achill Island, Ireland are overwhelming. It happened after the beach they lost 33 years ago back to normal. Soft sandy strands frame the seafront.

The beach disappeared during a violent storm in the spring of 1984. The storm wiped out almost all the sand on the beach.

During the storm 33 years ago, when the sand and beaches disappeared, what remained was a sea of ​​rocks that were uncomfortably trampled. Due to the natural events, almost all the hotels, guest houses and cafes in the village were closed. Similarly, as quoted by the Daily Mail, on Monday (08/05/2017).

However, the tub of magic, thanks to the astonishing tidal, hundreds of thousands of tons of sand back to the beach, in 10 nights at the end of April. As a result, 300 meters long coastline was re-created.

Sean Molloy, manager of Achill Tourism, said, "Before this coastline disappeared, this beach has existed throughout the life of mankind, but it all ended in 1984."

"At that time, there was an enormous storm that destroyed the beach and completely eliminated the sand," said Molloy again.

Molloy then tells, in April when Easter, the wind blowing from the north constantly.

"The wind is very constant and stable, maybe carrying material from another place so the sand then comes," said Molloy.

Molloy said, within ten days, suddenly the rocky area was covered in a pile of sand. "The residents are excited about the excitement, they get the beach again," Molloy continued.

He says this phenomenon is an example of the power of the universe.

Locals, Alan Gielty, a third generation who runs local bars around the coast, say the presence of beaches in the region has attracted many tourists.

"The beach was lost in the 1980s because of a terrible storm, leaving only stones for us," recalled the 48-year-old man.

"Now the sand is back, our beach is there again, it's amazing, our village looks more beautiful," Gielty said.
