Jam Gadang is the name for the clock tower located in downtown Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. This clock tower has a clock with a large size on four sides so called Jam Gadang, Minangkabau terminology meaning "big clock". Jam Gadang is a landmark of the city of Bukittinggi and the province of West Sumatra in Indonesia. West Sumatra typical symbol also has a story and uniqueness because of its age that has been tens of years. Jam Gadang was built in 1926 by architect Yazin and Sutan Gigi Ameh. Laying the first stone of this hour was made Rook Maker's first son who was then 6 years old.
