Everyone is selfish - most inspirational story.
A student was keen to renounce the world but he claimbed that his family loved him too much to let him go.
"loved?"said his guru."that isn't love at all.listen...."and he revealed a yogic secret to the student whereby he could simulate the state of death.the next day the man died for all outward appearances and the entire family was weeping and wailing.
the guru then showed up and told the weeping members that he had the power to bring the man back to life if someone is prepared to die instead. he asked "any volunteers?"
to the "corpse's"astonishment every member of the family gave a reason why it was necessary to keep his or her own life.his wife said"there's no need for anyone to die instead.we will manage without him."
the will to live and the urge to survive ,at any cost,are strong in every one of life to face death is not easy.
by the large everyone is selfish.it is pointless to expect others to sacrifice their lives.
