Chapter 6 order of the dragon

Ben and Zim walked down the narrow road that led them away from where Ben’s little farm used to be. Thay talked about magic and the fact that Ben was a true seer but Ben got a sense that Zim was holding back and had a lot on his mind. As they got into town Zim told Ben he was actually from this area before he joined the order. As they walked through town they got strange looks at seeing them in their blood red robes especially from people who had known Ben for most of his life. After arriving at the dock Zim began casting another powerful spell Ben could see the same shapes as he had at the farm and after a moment a small ship appeared it was from an era long past but looked almost brand new.

Zim and Ben boarded the old ship and Zim explained this ship was his birthright from a time before he was a wizard. The whole trip from the time they left the farm or at least where the farm used to be seemed so impersonal Ben couldn’t take it any more and had to ask “what’s going on since we left the farm you have been so distant. I know you must have a million things on your mind but what is the matter?”
Zim thought for a bit and finally said “I know I have shown you some things about magic but we all have a part to play in future events and when we get to the tower I won’t be your teacher anymore there are wizards there that are much better teachers than I.”
Ben hadn’t thought about what would happen when they got to the tower. He was so caught up in the whole idea of being a wizard he hadn’t thought about Zim and what he must be going through. “ so you mean you won’t be there to teach me.”
Zim knew too much of prophecy to just give a simple answer but he knew that was what he must do “ I will be there but I will also have other tasks I must complete as well.”
Ben knew there was more but decided to let it go “ I know you are a powerful wizard and will have things that you will have to do but I would really appreciate if you popped in every once in a while and checked on me.”
Zim agreed and started preparing for their trip. Ben noticed Zim preparing and asked “ is there anything I can do to help?”
Zim was so used to doing it all himself but thought it would be nice to have some help and told Ben he could ready The sails. Ben quickly complied and the small ship was ready in no time. Ben knew Zim was the son of a rich merchant although that was nearly a thousand years ago. It was amazing to see Zim in his true element he moved around the ship as though he and the ship were one living organisms he used magic to do some of the work but there was beautiful rhythm to the whole thing.
Ben wondered if a thousand years from now he would be meeting a new recruit for the tower and he would be the Wise old wizard that Zim was today. Somehow Ben knew he wouldn’t be he wasn’t even sure if the world would be around in a thousand years after hearing he was to be the savior of the world.
As the ship was ready they set sail and they were off towards the tower and the future.
