Today 20 of june 1947, Bugsy Siegel organized crime leader, is killed!!
Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel (February 28, 1906 – June 20, 1947) was a Jewish American mobster. Siegel was known as one of the most "infamous and feared gangsters of his day". Described as handsome and charismatic, he became one of the first front-page-celebrity gangsters. But now I want to talk about the vision he had about building a casino in the desert! Everyone knows Las Vegas, but Las Vegas we know that today exist because of Bugsy Siegel !! In 1945, Siegel had a brilliant idea. Just hours away from Los Angeles sat the sleepy desert town of Las Vegas, Nevada. Siegel decided to build the Flamingo Hotel in the middle of the desert with $6,000,000, a chunk of which came from the New York syndicate. Siegel did not look at money and luxury wanted at all costs, raising the casino began to swallow much over budget. Every three months, there was need one million dollars extra. Soon, mafia bosses came to despair and conclude that Siegel has lost his mind. But it was just blinded by his love for Virginia Hill, whom devote impressive building. The Flamingo opened on December 26, 1946 to poor reception and soon closed. It reopened in March 1947 with a finished hotel. The Flamingo wasn’t immediately profitable and Siegel ended up in an argument with Lucky Luciano over paying back the money used to build it. Around the same time that Siegel was killed in Beverly Hills Anyway he was a great man who made history!! R.I.P
