Charlie Chaplin was a man who made eighty-six films in sixty years. He made millions of people laugh with his
funniest actions.
He was born in London on 16 Apiral 1889. His mother was a popular singer with a beautiful voice. She was also a great dancer. His father was a talented actor. As Chaplin belonged to a family of artists, he loved acting. When he was just five years old , her mother lost her voice suddenly & could not perform on stage. He sang in his mother's place and gained great appreciation from the audience. The audience loved him & his funny ways. they throw coins onto the stage for him.

When Charlie Chaplin was seventeen, he become a comedian in an English Company & performed in variety shows. He toured the United States with this company. He made people laugh with his funny actions. He soon become famous. At the age of twenty-one he was one of the best comedians of his time. Three years later he asked to act as an actor in a film company making moving pictures. At that time films did not have speech or sound. They were called silent films.

He acted as 'The Tramp' in his films for twenty-five years. people recognized him from his big baggy pants & large floppy shoes. He always carried a wooden cane with which he used to do the most unusual things.

Charlie Chaplin died in Switzerland on Christmas Day in 1977 at the age of eighty-eight
