Stone Mt ,NC

we recently took a camping trip to Stone Mt, NC. I give the campsites 2 thumbs up ! All very clean, nice bath houses, tent camping and camper with large hook ups available. Very close to the trail head for moderate and strenuous trails. The water fall is beautiful, the homestead interesting and the view from atop Stone Mt SPECTACULAR!. One word of caution, part of the trail was burnt out during last years forest fires . We hiked the 2.6 miles to the homestead and 2.6 back the first day, then the 1.8 both ways to the top the following day since the circle can not be completed for the trail.

The elevation grade is steep, make sure you take water, and a walking stick is helpful.
