I had a look at the hot and trending topics, also saw the tags that were used the most, a combination of all of that helped me quite a bit, im by far not a pro, but it seems to be working, if you look at my profile a couple of my first posts havent done well at all, but the newer ones definitely picked up.. Also read up on markdown and some of the guides i found usefull
Timing is also good, when to post, Tuesdays and Thursdays i found worked for me.
and last but most important, is the content, high end content is what its about IMO
