How overtake? In market cap eos is already well beyond steem. as regards usage, first the mainchain has to launch, once that runs, there will be tons of dapps to run on it, of which two will be social networks, just to put things in scope...
I think we will see lots of apps and integrations to make steemit users use EOS to pay for stuff possibly even upvote bots that accept EOS.
I don't see EOS killing or harming steem in any way, the projects have different goals and target audiences.
