How To Break It To Your Family That Their Retirement Will Now Suck

I've been trying to figure out how to tell my family about this. I still don't know if it's worth it.

My brother is a programmer so he probably understands the tech stuff better than I do, but we're not close. He's never talked to me about crypto before, and I don't know him well enough to know what would make sense for him to hear.

My parents are high-tech people, they have computers and stuff that they use every day. They're pretty liberal with their money and they support me in my interests (I'm an artist), so I can't imagine them being too worried about me losing money on this. But since I'm their only child and they've always assumed that I'd go into something lucrative (lawyer or doctor), maybe they'll be disappointed if I just disappear from the face of the earth without any explanation.
