This wagon full of hay was sitting near the road as I drove by with its iron wheels and square bales of hay. It's a reminder of the way that agriculture has changed in the last 50 years. Not so long ago the technology of the square bale was in common use as they were easy to handle for feeding animals. Nowdays the round bale has taken over with the mass feeding of cows on large farms by machine which has replaced the hand labor needed on America's small farms all but gone now.
