Today's post by @amariespeaks is very well written and thought provoking, reading this really highlighted the dangers of something seemingly innocent as children playing with toy guns and hoodies in public, easily confused as a potential threat by other civilians or the local law enforcement, such things never really crossed my mind before.
Some countries have law enforcement that are a law unto themselves and this is a problem and best to avoid contact or confrontation; corruption of law enforcement is typically prevalent in developing countries but that is not to say it is not rife in developed countries either. There are of course good law enforcement officers that uphold the law with integrity and with a level head, but the advice given on this author's post can be invaluable to keep our children out of harm's way by avoiding scenarios of potential misunderstanding.
