Make It Mandatory To Pop Bubbles For STEEM

in #steemthoughts8 years ago (edited)

In order to ensure high amounts of return activity and stickiness on this platform, payouts should manifest as bubbles floating around a user's screen. Pop them to collect your STEEM rewards from posts, comments, and curation. If not, the bubbles will cease to exist after X hours, never to be seen again. Bubbles that were not popped in time will have its STEEM forfeited and burned. This will create a community that's highly responsive and responsible.

Also, this shows that blogging is the new mining! Finger-mining on bubbles for STEEM.. so let's get popping! Okay, it's not a very bright idea.

Bring it! I don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty good at Fruit Ninja

We'd probably need this to start claiming there's a level of objective proof-of-work :D

Bubbles that were not popped in time will have its STEEM forfeited and burned.

Or they instead move to a random user as "bonus bubble".

Or the bubbles go to the trending page where anyone can pop it :)

Haha! Game of Internet Speed.

What if there was a different app where bubbles are popped for points and those points exchanged for Steem?

Five bubbles on screen at a time, only one contains Steem. Pop the wrong one, lose the Steem.

But if the goal is to encourage stickiness on Steemit then a standalone app won't cut it.

Now that would make things interesting... it certainly would require people to pay more attention. What about some kind of bonus if they click the bubble within a certain time period and a penalty if they don't?

Hmm perhaps not a negative penalty, just zero-rewards as penalty..

Well it was meant as a penalty to those rewards, not a penalty in general. For example, instead of losing out on the entire rewards by not clicking the bubble in time, maybe you lose 25% of the rewards or something? Missing out on the whole rewards just sounds so harsh... Just thinking out loud here :)

  • Step 1: Pop bubbles.
  • Step 2: Moon.

Step 3: Sell for Dogecoin.

Yes! Such currency. Much use.

Honestly, I think it's a great idea for a daily STEEM bonus and should be limited to a maximum of, let's say, 2 hours so people get hooked but hopefully not addicted. Any STEEM not used for the allotted bubbles game gets burned to keep our economy strong.

If this actually happened, I'd be assigning my kids to bubble popping duty. I'm sure they'd have a good time.

Hahah plays well into your username :P

Definitely need sound effects as well.

How cool a suggestion is that?!!!

I really like it, although this would probably reduce the amount of (active) users in the end, since one cannot expect to sit behing Steemit 24/7.

But, this would be great to actually implement and run this as a returning event, maybe every month for some hours, or 1 day, or marathon sessions of 2 to 3 days with very short time to react on the bubbles.

Funny idea, but the programmers among us would program a bot to pop the bubbles. Also there is a world outside the internet, that people might want to engage in,without fear of missing out on bubblemoney.

I wonder if it could be designed to be bot resistant!

I think it's a good idea, but something to implement when we've established a larger user base.

Haha it'll be funny if its really implemented. Doubtful xD

Hey, you never know. There's still a lot of work to be done on this platform. And you have not only a fun idea, but one that could potentially benefit the community.
