Behind A Woman's Crowning Glory: A Sketch
We encounter a lot of strong women in our lives. Our mothers, sisters, friends, and acquaintances. We have wondered a lot of stories behind their present life and admired almost everything they have accomplished hoping we could be like them - empowered and free.
The buzzword empowerment seems a little too vague for someone like me for I have not experience such on a daily basis. And yes I am one of those women who are struggling to become better, to become situated in every situation, to effortlessly achieve something that we have always dreamed of.
So for Steem Summit's Call for Art Submission, I present this entry to portray when a woman becomes a woman - empowered and free. As I present the process of my sketch, allow me to speak of my entry's interpretation.
I wanted to show that every strong women you encounter in the grocery, from the counter, the one who smiled to you as you walk the streets of Cebu, that every living woman experienced vast hardships and struggled the intricacies of life more than you could imagine.
Step 1
The Philippine's oldest traditions includes women as a home buddy only but that is never true now for our kind has immersed the limits of traditions of the past. We are able to surpass any discrimination the world puts upon us. And that alone is the very core why women chose to be empowered, and equals men - not in all situations but as long as a woman is capable no one is able to stop her now. And because of that I am more than willing to do this art work.
Step 2
I think everyone is aware that nothing great in this world comes easy. That is the very point of why drew women's past experiences as building blocks to a successful life. The crying and sobbing every night and the endless looking for reason for every circumstances- that is very difficult to handle. Again, nothing great in this world comes easy.
Step 3
For all the women reading this, I ask you. What are your reasons you cry at night? Is it because you dropped a subject in your course? A breakup? Fallen and broken family? Those are only a few but I know we all have diamond hearts that are stronger than we believe. Remember, we are shaped greatly throughout our process for something better.
No excellent wine is produced without extracting a grape.
Step 4
So accept defeat. Cry as long as you want to. Scream to your hearts content. No one is in control of the person you are today but yourself.
Step 5
Wishing all women to be empowered and fearless and free! This is all for you! This is for us. Believe that you are one empowered woman and you are half way to being great!
