Hello everyone, I know this is very strange coming from me (having to write a topic like this), just today I was out for a long walk based on the fact that I had been indoor all week since my very close friends ( brothers ) had traveled back to there various destinations, today will make it a week plus, so I decided to go for a walk to get refreshed and think of a good post for tonight and then when I looked at the sky "what will eventually happen if the earth stopped spinning" so I did some research and I will be sharing my findings and results with you all.
Note what you about to read can be disturbing or scary, I myself was spooked out when I was doing the research.

Our planet as we know spins at 1000 miles per hour around its equator as it orbits sun but the funny thing is that as you get closer to the poles it gets slower. Without the earth rotation life on earth will not be possible. From research, it is found that many years ago the earth actually spinned faster this was all changed when the earth was colided with another bigger body and the earth rotation and the moon was formed.

So if the earth stopped spinning and it's not tidal-lucked (tidal lucking is the name giving to the force of attraction between two bodies in space) the sun the earth will experience six (6) months of no light and six months of darkness no let us see the effect it will have on us and the planet.

Now if there is sudden stop in the earth's rotation there will a sudden movement of everything on the earth surface at a very high speed butting in mind that the earth spins at 1000 miles per hour that will end up moving each continent away from its original position to a side way position, let me explain further imagine yourself in a high moving car of 1000km/hr without your seatbelt on and the car comes to a sudden stop without decelerating yee that kind of impact is what will happen to the eath but on a much larger scale.

If you think that's all, well it just got worse for the earth's ocean will experience that same force causing very high waves in destroying everything that it comes across, now imagine sunami so high that you can't see the top racing towards you at 1000km/hr and we all know that the earth has a higher ratio of water to that of land land.

With that, I believe that will be the end of all life as we know it.

With my knowledge in Geography; Of course, if the earth is stopped from spinning, most of our planet would rapidly become very inhospitable.
Half of the planet would almost continuously face the heat of the Sun, while half would face the cold of space.
Life could continue in a narrow twilight zone between the hot and cold halves. But this twilight zone would slowly creep around the planet over the period of a year, as the Earth did its annual orbit around the Sun.
To make it easier to work out what would happen, let's pretend the oceans don't freeze on the cold side, or evaporate on the hot side. And let's look only at centrifugal force, which should really be called centripetal force.
Over several billion years, this force, which effectively pushes outwards, has made the planet a bit fatter around the middle. So the diameter of the Earth measured through the equator is today about 21.4 kilometres more than the diameter of the Earth measured through the poles.
But this bulge in the solid Earth took billions of years to slowly develop. This is because the solid matter moved only very slowly in response to the outward force caused by the spin of the planet.
But the liquid water in the oceans is far more mobile and responsive to forces. So the Earth's spin has pushed up this liquid water to an 'abnormal' elevation of about eight kilometres.
In other words, at the equator, thanks to the spinning Earth, the water has been pushed up some eight kilometres higher than in the case of the Earth having no spin.
But today, on the entire equator, the deepest part of the oceans is only about 5.75 kilometres.
So take away the spin and you take away all water at the equator.
wow... I am loving this, you are so right my friend but I believe that every living thing on earth will be long died but let us say by chance, humans survived the first stage I think the best way to survive is to go underground or what do you think.
That is great imagination. Buh am wondering does that mean that time too will stop. I don't wish for this and for any generation. Like what u said "that will be the end of the world"
well to be frank with you this is not happening anytime soon, in fact this is timed for like billions and billions of years from now and this is just one possible way for life to end.
secondly, time will not stop for time itself is of the third dimssion so it is endless though it can't end but it can be manipulated, that's where time travel comes into play.

Jeez! This is really scary. Hopefully the earth won't stop rotating....not in my lifetime at least 😂 and as a christian, I only believe what is found in the bible. It was never said that the world will end through a stop in the earths rotation so... We are safe 🙌 Lol...
