SteemSTEM Distilled #13
Welcome to the thirteenth issue of SteemSTEM Distilled, a curation effort by the members of the @steemstem team.
SteemSTEM is a community driven project which seeks to promote well-written and informative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics posts on Steemit. The project involves curating STEM-related posts through upvoting, resteeming, offering constructive feedback, supporting scientific contests, and other related activities.
For more details click here.
Our team scours the platform for original and quality content. After working through thousands (literally!) of STEM-related posts and upvoting more than 200 that we deemed to be worthy, we proudly present you our top 7 handpicked choices:
Monday - WCG: Fight AIDS at home - Analysis of HIV wild-type and mutant structures via in silico docking against diverse ligand libraries.
Tuesday - The Body Clock – a brief Introduction to the Circadian Rhythm
Wednesday - My first "shrink" pick: Alfred Alder. What came after the analyst couch
Thursday - #10 IQ overload: Paul Dirac
Friday - How To Make Coding Easier For Computer-Related Students?
Saturday - The Physics Of Dandelion Dispersal Could Inspire Windborne Micro Drones
Sunday - Vaccination: The Dangerous Myth that will Kill, Part 5 of 5
For the sake of transparency we feel we need to clarify how our nomination process works; each issue is compiled by certain members of the SteemSTEM community. This week's editorial team was comprised of @ruth-girl, @trumpman, and @justtryme90.
The editorial team chooses their favorite posts for the week and each issue is the result of their joined effort. In order to keep the process fair, posts written by the editorial team are excluded from the nomination process.
Don't be discouraged if you didn't make it on this issue. The competition is harsh and there is always a next time :) In the meantime, you may wish to check these guidelines for extra tips on how your writing can be more effective.
In the same spirit of being transparent about our actions that are now supported by @curie, we will release every week a list of authors who have caught the attention of the @steemstem curation team.
If you want to discuss this with us, please do not hesitate to join the steemSTEM channel on the Steemit chat or to follow our curation trail on Streemian. If you are not on Streemian, we have a plan B through a homemade voting bot. You can contact us on the chat in order to be added to its trail.
From December 3 to December 10, we rewarded 98 different authors who have written a total of 157 different articles. The authors who received both a @steemstem and a @curie vote that week are:

this is a thing that should be worthy of two thumbs ... i like you @lemouth n @justtryme90 thanks so much
You are welcome! Thanks to you for the thumbs :)
Once again, congratulations to everyone. I am very proud to see that we are slowly reaching a threshold of 100 rewarded authors per week! :)
Oh, thank you people & curation team! I'm honored to be mentioned so presently.
I am happy to be a SteemSTEM member & will write a lot more stuff about my profession. Look forward to overcome some health issues but as long it is not good yet, I stay with "breaks" and only give votes here and there.
Stay well & steem on!
We were also very happy to have found you! I hope you will get better as soon as possible! Take care and enjoy the winter break!
Wednesday’s post is a very good one.
Agreed, @erh.germany is doing some great stuff.
Thank you! What a nice surprise! I wish I could clone myself in order to read all the good articles here! Good day for you in... was it Boston? :)
If you find how to clone yourself, please send me the trick :)
As I was away mostly the entire previous week, I am for the first time enjoying this distilled to discover interesting things to read. I agree @erh.germany's post is great :)
You just said the comment I had in mind ^^ hahaha.
Be careful, @abigail-dantes can read minds :D
@steemstem you are doing a tremendous work in promoting science, technology, and maths on steemit. This is very encouraging seeing the number of curations that happens daily. Special thanks to all the curators and admins who spent hours creating this awesomeness.
You are very welcome, and thanks to you for your constant contributions :)
You are most welcome.
Good work everyone! Its especially good to see some more featuring of non-biology STEM posts with the programming and psychiatry articles.
Diversity is always great! :)
Hello @steemstem
Kudos to you. This is one of the most active and highly trusted curation project from @curie that does its jobs with honor. The discussion room at steemit.Chat IA always a fun place to cool off, very engaging community scientifically a d otherwise.
I can see vividly that our contributors are growing steadily. That's quite nice.
If you @steemstem don't mind, I will like to have the link to the post explaining how to join steemstem community as well as the types of posts supported by her. I have some niewbies to introduce to this amazing community.
Upv by @eurogee, the Steemivangelist and the founder of @euronation Newbie's Support Team
Thanks for your message @eurogee!
Just to let you know, steemstem has been founded independently from curie (I think it even predates curie, but this has to be checked). The fact that we have now curie support is pretty recent (a couple of months).
For more information about us, all the links are given in the above post (links to our chat, explaining our curation trail, etc.). Anything else you would like to know?
No, I think Curie as a project predates us. They didn't start out with an account. There I think we are first. Still both curation projects are old.
I am bad with (recent) dates. Thanks for clarifying :)
@steemstem is one of the awesome science and technology promotion project that has been helping quality content writer. Thanks for the good work. I think We have to create a discord channel for this project
We have one, it's just not used as people didn't want to move over from steemit.chat.
Thanks for your message. As answered by justtryme90, we actually have a discord channel, but most of us (me included) prefer the steemit chat (see here).
Thanks for the response @lemouth and @justtryme90
Thank you @steemstem for doing this, finally we will have great content here.
You are welcome. I actually think we already have great content here (we just want more :) ).
We have always had great content. It just wasn't getting noticed! This is where we come in for the STEM posters. Helping them get more attention.
Totally :)
Read them all.
My SteemSTEM Distilled Squared:
Mr Thursday's was the most entertaining one I think, and Mrs Sunday's the most important one.
(I'm using codenames like they did in Reservoir Dogs. We don't want anyone to know who I'm talking about.)
Beware, I am strangely starring at you at the moment :p
