Hi @akiripromise. I have severe strabismus after I suffered a brain haemorrhage. It keeps coming back and this year I will be having a 4th surgery.

It's so frustrating that nothing is understood about what causes it. There is clearly something wrong with the 'firmware' in the 'controller' of my eyes, and it's a shame that we can't correct that (yet). Because fixing the effect (cutting the muscle) is a rather crude solution, not without risk and side-effects.

I wish we could fix the muscle with a small tool through a hole, rather than cutting open the entire sclera. Because that's brutal. Your eyes are the most important feature in your face, and the sclera definitely show permanent signs of a struggle after surgery.

For people who have similar issues and are not born with it, and thus suffer from difficult vision and double images, I would like to advise that there is this thing called "fresnel prism stickers" that you can stick on your glasses. Put it on the glass for the non-dominant eye, so you can still see clearly. This is beneficial for either a quick fix, experimentation, while on the waiting list for surgery, or because real (and expensive) prisms are limited to about 5 degrees because the glasses would get too thick. These fresnel sticker prisms go up to 15 degrees.

It's amazing that my doctors didn't give me this tip before. I had to see Hillary Clinton wear one of them before I jumped up and said: "Wait... this exists?"
