OBSTETRIC FISTULA
This occur when a woman involuntarily leak faeces or urine through her vagina following complication during/of childbirth which can between the vaginas and the rectum, bladder or the urethra. This can happened if there is something prolonged obstruction in labor.
This happened among woman with little or no medical attention during labor with tendency of losing the child and being left with Obstetric Fistula. Most women suffering from this medical disease without medical attention tends to suffer rejection due to foul smell coming from the vagina
This remains a silent tragedy that devastates lives. Without treatment, fistula often leads to social, physical, emotional and economic decline. Although some women with fistula display amazing courage and resilience, many others succumb to illness and despair. it is preventable and when it occurs, it can be corrected through surgery by the urogyneacological department of a hospital.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Inability to control urination or defecation
Foul smell from the vaginas
Vaginas discharge
Pain around vaginas and during serial intercourse
Struggling with mobility due to wound from burns on the leg as a result from continuous dripping

TREATMENT
Obstetric Fistula can be treated through corrective surgery and Urinary Catheterization- which is a process by which a thin flexible tube inserted into the body to permit introduction or withdrawal of fluids or to keep the passageway open which can be permanent or intermittent.
NOTE
This medical condition cannot heal on its own and when not treated, the patient is exposed to having cancer or infections.
Also, it takes approximately 2weeks after surgery for recovery to start and patient to start there normal daily life routine but takes several weeks and/or months to heal completely
