STEPHEN HAWKINGS AND THE INFORMATION PARADOX: WAS IT FINALLY SOLVED OR NOT?
Few weeks ago the world mourned the passing away of Professor Stephen Hawking, his works has been looked at for solving burning question in physics: how can we describe the attitude of black holes with two clashing theories? Okay lets journey a little bit. The theory about black holes i.e. extremely dense object in space with immensely gravity promoted however he contradicted himself. Somebody might asked how Hawking contradicted himself. It was Einstein’s theory of relativity that he initially followed, this talked about how large objects can bend space and time in agreement that black holes never changed and were cold. Then he applied quantum theory that explains the behaviour of the universe’s most basic particles, he was able to established the fact that the gradual disappearance of black hole is in their ability to radiated heat, this was according to his publication in Nature
SO WHAT’S THE CONTRADICTIONS?
According to his published article, black holes vanish over time hence would mean that the information about the particles and characters inside would also disappear. This really sounds contradicting as in against the basic rule of quantum mechanics, which states that information cannot disappear. In a simple words it means a particle in its present form can be a source of recovery of its previous state. This is the paradox of information.
LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT
Then in 2014, in order to right the wrong, by claiming black holes never existed, this he did by rejecting the long-held concept of an event horizon. His concept was that if anything crosses this boundary around the black hole then there is no escape. Stephen Hawkings would later suggest that information could escape but would have been in a random state that interpreting it will be practically impossible. Can you detect the paradox….
Paradox or not, Hawkings remain a great scientist and his contribution to science and physic cannot be taken away
