Long time no see! - I have some news :)
In case you are wondering if this account is dead, I would need to (incorrectly) paraphrase Monty Python and say it was just resting.

About three years ago I took up a very heavy responsibility at my university where I was responsible for the management of the full physics education and curriculum. Effectively a full time job in any other field, so in traditional university manner I was expected to do besides my normal responsibilities (welcome to academia, make sure you know what you sign up for if you pursue to become a professor!). This meant that I could not combine my research responsibilities with my education responsibilities without sacrificing something, and one of those somethings was STEEM blogging.
But now I am back! This is also driven by the great news that I have been recruited into a new job. Starting in september 2021 I will be working at the DESY lab, the national research center for particle physics in Germany. This move is provided by funding by the awesome Helmholtz Association. I will of course continue to be a professor, specifically I will take up a new research professorship at the University of Hamburg. I hope to have some more time for blogging in this new position, so stay tuned for more posts.
I plan to post regularly on CERN and life as a scientist at CERN, the large accelerator LHC at CERN, new results in the news, plans for future colliders and of course various tech bits-and-bobs that I need to do my job as a particle physicist. And shoes.
