After Dwight Howard’s historic night of 32-points and 30 rebounds performance against the nets, Kemba Walker’s 46 led the Charlotte Hornets beat the Memphis Grizzlies 140-79 and recorded their largest win margin in franchise history on Thursday night. Kemba hits ten 3-pointers. Kemba had his 9th 40-point game of his career as the Hornets easily defeated Memphis. It was the third highest scoring game of Kemba’s career. He had a career high of 52 points against the Utah Jazz in January 2016 and had 47 points in a loss against the Chicago Bulls in November 2017.

The all-star guard made 13 out of his 18 overall shots including 10 out of his 14 3-pointers and was a perfect 10 of 10 from the free throw line in just 28 minutes of action. Kemba scored 17 points in the first quarter alone, 18 in the second and 11 in the third. Dwight Howard was suspended in this game because he was whistled for his 16th technical foul this season. As per the rules, a player with 16 technical fouls will suffer one-game suspension.

Howard’s absence did not cause a big problem as backup center Willy Hernangomez stepped up and scored 10 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked 2 shots. Jeremy Lamb had a fine night as he recorded 12 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal. Dwayne Bacon had 15 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Frank Kaminsky added 14 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block while Marvin Williams had 15 points and 6 rebounds.

Memphis’ highest leading scorer was Wayne Selden scoring 18 points. Tyreke Evans added 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Jarell Martin had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Ben McLemore only had 7 points and 4 rebounds while JaMychal Green finished the game with 5 points and 7 rebounds. The Memphis Grizzlies are obviously tanking and aiming for a high draft pick this off-season while the Hornets are still fighting for a play-off spot. The Grizzlies will host the Lakers next on Saturday while the Hornets will visit Dallas also on Saturday night.

Man what a pathetic performance from the Grizzlies. I mean they were playing the Hornets for crying out loud, not the 80's Lakers or 90's Bulls! Take my hat off to Kemba Walker who played an incredible game and for them to do this without Dwight Howard in the lineup is even more mind-boggling. This is what you get though in today's NBA, the last 20 games for teams that aren't going to make the playoffs turns into a complete crap-fest. I get positioning yourself for next season, but these guys are supposed to be pros, take a little pride in what you do instead of just collecting a check and packing it in!
