UFC Conor McGregor avoids seven years jail time

30-year old UFC star man Conor Mc Gregor has avoided a maximum jail sentence of seven years, after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct including other criminal charges emanating from a public altercation involving other UFC fighters and athletes back in April.
The deal with prosecutors which sees the UFC fighter avoid jail time, would require the Irishman to undergo anger management sessions as well as carry out five days of community service, in order to be cleared of criminal charges stemming from the incident.
On April 5th, 2018, Conor McGregor was involved in an altercation at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where he was caught on video throwing a metal object through the window of a bus parked at the loading bay of the Barclay’s Center.
At the time of the incident, a group of UFC fighters and employees were in the coach bus. Following Conor McGregor’s attack on the bus, two UFC fighters were reported injured and this led to them being unable to fulfil their scheduled matches at the time.
A teammate of McGregor – MMA fighter Cian Cowley from the SBG Ireland had been involved in the ugly incident too, and was also arrested. Just yesterday, Cowley also pleaded guilty to the charges of disorderly conduct.
Following the April 5th incident, Conor McGregor was arrested and was charged with 12 criminal offences stemming from the incident, which included assault resulting to injuries, menacing, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
Having avoided jail time in his plea settlement, the deal involving the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office mandates McGregor to now pay full cost for the damages inflicted on the bus company during the April 5th incident, which he has reportedly done.
Fortunately for the Irishman, it has been revealed also that the ugly Brooklyn incident will not affect his US work visa. The UFC star subsequently thanked the judge and the District Attorney for allowing him to move forward and putting the incident behind him.
As Conor McGregor now gets cleared of criminal charges, his manager Mr Audie Attar has said the UFC star would be getting back to business, which involves potentially lucrative fights being line up for the Irish fighter in the coming months.
A potential opponent for Conor McGregor around October later in the year, could be the current champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov whom it has been reported was the obvious target of his hostility during the Brooklyn’s Barclays Center attack incident.
It is reported that the match could be scheduled in the coming weeks for as early as October. And If the fight eventually sees the light of day, it is being considered to become the biggest fight in the history of UFC fights.

Conner is no doubt a great fighter and has probably been missed by a lot of UFC fans / personnel. I know he brings in a ton of $$$ for them. I personally like him. Most of the time I don’t like all the trash talking, but he makes it funny and backs it up most of the time. What’s y’alls opinion on on the Irish Bad boy?
hehe, ya I think it's hard to take it too seriously. Judging him as a normal person.. like, obviously he's insane lol. But it's like you have to see him as part WWE and hard to know what really makes him tick or where his heart is.
I know Dana White insists this whole incident was real and not staged, but there's no way to know that's true for sure. It could be Connor acting on his own for the sake of publicity too. I basically take all this stuff with a lot of salt. It's all a performance, on some level or another.
Touché, it very well could be staged, BUT I guess that’s the part that will probably bring it more attention, because nobody knows for sure. One thing you can bet is that fight FIGHT will draw huge numbers!

Lolz..... @full-measure, I couldn't agree more. Sometimes it all seems like a facade. But like you said....it's probably best to take it all with a pinch of salt.
Yea, I do agree with you @b-sballpythons. Conor brings a lot of pep and swagger to the UFC. But then, there are times when the sport can do with less of the jibes and banters. All-in-all, he is a great fighter. I'm eager to see him and Khabib in the ring though.
