The Latest Rumors
Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger is looking to sign the Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette who is valued at 60 million pounds. The Lyon striker has previously stated that the champions league will not play a big part in his decision which is a good sign for the Gunners who will be playing in the Europa League next season. Lyon is rumored to be demanding Olivier Giroud in part-exchange for Lacazette. The former Montpellier striker has, however, insisted that he is happy at Arsenal despite making only 11 starts last season.
Mohamed Salah’s transfer to Liverpool inches closer. He is rumored to cost 35 million pounds + 4 million in add-ons. This will be the 24 year old Egyptian’s 2nd stint in England, after an unsuccessful first spell at Chelsea where he made just 13 league starts and scored 2 goals. He moved to Italy where he had 2 loan spells in Fiorentina and then Roma with whom he signed permanently in 2016. He scored 34 goals in 83 appearances for the capital club. According to Sky Italia, Mohamed Salah has told Roma he wants to move to Liverpool.
The Brazillian winger, Douglas Costa is on his way out of Bayern Munich. Douglas Costa is about to move to Juventus for 40 million Euros. He arrived at the German champions 2 seasons ago from Shakhtar Donestsk for 30 million euros, the fourth highest transfer fee in Bayern history but despite a promising start he has struggled for form and also seemed not to be involved in manager Ancelotti’s plan with few appearances in the just concluded season. He is now being sold for a profit to the champions league runners-up.
PSG drop Aubameyang interest: Paris Saint-Germain have dropped their interest in Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He has been deemed too expensive and the club will now look to other options with Alexis Sanchez looking a likely target. The Chilean is also wanted by Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Deals In The Works
Pickford to Everton: Sunderland has agreed an offer for Jordan Pickford. Everton have offered a whopping 30 million pounds. The price would make the 23 year old the 3rd most expensive goalkeeper in history after Gianluigi Buffon of Juventus and Ederson of Manchester City. He made 135 saves in the Premier League last season and conceded 69 goals. Premier league giants like Arsenal also showed an interest but they seem to have been beaten to his signature with the deal likely to be announced later in the week.
The Sevilla midfielder Stephen N’zonzi has agreed to join Juventus in a deal worth 40 million euros. The fee will be payed by Juve in installments. N’zonzi, who has also played for English team Stoke City scored 3 and assisted 3 goals last season. He will be a strong addition to the Squad as Massimiliano Allegri looks to bolster his midfield for next season given his lack of quality options. He was only able to start Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic in his team’s champion league final loss to Real Madrid.
Everton FC has submitted an official bid of 18 million euros for M’baye Niang. The 22 year old AC Milan winger spent half of last season on loan at Watford. Before his loan move, he made 18 appearances for Milan scoring 3 times and assisting twice. He moved to Watford during the winter transfer window. He scored 2 goals and made 2 assists in 16 appearances for Watford.
The Confirmed Deals
Bruma signs for RB Liepzig: The pacy Galatasaray winger has signed a 5 year contract with last year’s Bundesliga runner up. The deal is worth 12.5million euros with an additional 2.5m in bonuses. The Portugal international joined the Turkish giants in 2013 but had 2 loan spells with Gaziantepspoer and Real Sociedad. He returned to Galatasaray in the 2016/2017 season contributing 11 goals and 6 assists from just 29 league appearances, helping them to a 4th place finish and a Europa league playoff spot.
Corentin Tolisso joins Bayern Munich from Lyon on a 5 year contract, the fee is 41.5 million euros with 6 million in performance related bonuses. He scored 14 goals and made 7 assists in 47 appearances last season. He adds depth to the Bayern Midfield which already has Thiago Alcantara, Arturo Vidal, Joshua Kimmich, David Alaba, Renato Sanches and Javi Martinez. With Renato Sanches rumored to be on his way out and Kimmich and Alaba likely to be deployed in defence, there should be a place for him in the team.
Andre Silva joins AC Milan for 38 million euros on a 5 year deal. The 23 year old Portuguese striker scored 20 goals in 40 appearances for Porto last season and has scored 6 goals in his last 6 appearance for his country. He joins an AC Milan side at the cusp of a revolution. The 7 time European champion has seen their fortune on a wane in recent seasons. However, with a recent takeover and the signing of Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie and now Silva, it looks like they are getting ready to play with the big boys again.
Mathieu Valbuena joins Fenerbahce: The diminutive French winger joins the Turkish giants from Lyon for an undisclosed fee. He made just 15 league starts for Lyon last season scoring 8 and assisting 5 goals. He leaves Lyon, who will have to play a playoff for Europa League qualification for Fenerbahce who have already assured of a place in the competition next season. Mathieu Valbuena is 32 years old.
Manchester United has signed Benfica defender, Victor Lindelof. The deal is worth 35 million pounds with 4 million in add-ons. He signed a 4 year contract. Lindelof is a tall and strong defender who is very good with the ball. He will be partnering Eric Bailly in the Manchester United defence. United coach Jose Mourinho is reported to be looking to develop the duo into a partnership that will last United for the next decade.
Hector Moreno has joined AS Roma from PSV Eindhoven. The 29 year old Mexican centre-back joins Roma after 2 seasons with PSV in which he won the league once. He was signed for 5 million euros on a 4 year contract. He was also a member of the 2014 Mexico squad that won the Gold Cup in 2014.
Ruben Semedo has joined Villareal from Sporting CP for a reported fee of 14 million euros. The portugese centre half was also pursued by English clubs Southampton and Newcastle United.
