The lineal light heavyweight champion will have his send off after this coming year, and he tells fans that these will be his best performances yet. After his dismantling of Volkan Oezdemir in under two rounds, Cormier made an appearance on 'MMASBN' with Ariel Helwani to make these assured announcements about his career.
Many wondered if last Saturday may be the last time we saw Cormier in the UFC octagon, but alas we found that Cormier is still hyped to get back in there and become motivated for a future contender. The fans also know that DC can't escape his past, and he would hop on a Jon Jones fight in an instant.

One must wonder if DC struggles to retire before Jon Jones becomes re-initiated into the UFC after his banned time is up. A warrior like Cormier would beckon to any call of a fight with his nemesis: he needs to redeem himself. DC's sternest test has become himself with the loss to Jones, but Jon only fought him as a cheater...
Cormier's ceiling was truly unlimited in his heavyweight era. He smashed all contenders and never struggled until his first UFC title fight...a title that found its way back to him. If karma is real, it was triggered by Cormier as he deserved to have a fair match with a contender who didn't break the rules.

Who knows if Jon Jones would have withstood the uppercuts Cormier knocked out Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva with if he wasn't on performance enhancing drugs. Cormier seemed to punish everyone else in the division with the same blows that Jon ate and fought through.
The family man, the anchor, the charismatic athlete you wanna cheer for: to me this is Daniel Cormier in a nutshell. As a fan and observer of the sport, I see D.C. as one of the best fighters of all time...and he is an Olympian who will go down in one of many Hall of Fames.

Comier showed a great performance the last saturday

his "dismantling" of Volkan Oezdemir in under two rounds... 😁😁😁 i like that word, he surely did dismantle him, i will miss cormier ooo, he is One of the best, thanks for sharing @steemsports

If Jon Jones didn't exist, DC would be considered one of the GOATs. Glad that he can ride off to the sunset with the belt though.

love that i have found your steemit page and that you are covering UFC! Myself, and my brother @lefthouse do a fight show called THE FIGHT REPORT MMA! take a look here:

I feel he would fight Jon Jones for the 3rd time even if he has retired . He deserve a last fight with Jones without using the drugs

I hope Daniel Cormier sued Jon Jones for all the damage he has done to his career/loss of earnings, denying him the LHW belt etc. where he would make more advertising revenue by being Champion.

I've been a fan of MMA for a very long time. Before there was the UFC Brazil and Japan had their own little organizations running early forms of MMA bouts.

Daniel Cormier did say that he was hanging up the gloves by the time he was 40 or so. To be honest if he walked away right now, it wouldn't look bad on his part. Years of punishment and head trauma is catching up.

He was a dominant heavyweight in other organizations, and a lot of current fans don't know that. He moved down to light heavyweight because his teammate, Cain Velasquez was claiming that division.

The only tarnish on DCs resume is the 2 losses to Jon Jones. Mind you that Jon has failed for PEDs and Cocaine usage in both matches.

There will always be a dark cloud over DCs career, but by all fairness, there are rules and Jon Jones failed both times. Therefore, DC has nothing more to prove. If he bows out now, there would be no shame.

He was never really a big trash talker so he may not get the same attention as others but he's no doubt a champion and I think he'll be remembered that way.
