Breaking News: Carmelo Anthony Traded in Blockbuster Deal!
SteemSports Presenter/Editor: Scott Frank,@scottybuckets
Carmelo Anthony is done in New York. The former Knick is packing his bags and heading to Oklahoma City. Anthony joins the Thunder as he was traded for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott and a 2018 second round pick. Yes, you read that right.
Anthony is now part of his own Big 3 by teaming up with last season’s MVP, Russell Westbrook, and All-Star, Paul George, who just joined the team as well. This catapults the Oklahoma City Thunder to one of the best offensive teams in the league. But there is only one ball, and sharing between these 3 could be challenging.
Carmelo Anthony has never been accused of being a hard worker. He rarely plays defense, he doesn't lift weights, and he often just glides through games and gunning up a bunch of jump shots. He is considered one of the best players in the game, but he shouldn't be. Sure, he has averaged 24 points a game throughout his career, but he only shoots 45% from the field and 34% from the three point line.
The New York Knicks will be bad after making this trade. But the New York Knicks already were bad before the trade. It has been nothing but disappointment for the their fan base for the last several years. Anthony is in the middle of his $124 Million extension he signed 2 years ago. The Knicks should be happy to be done with that absurd contract and the most overrated player in this generation.
Good luck in Oklahoma City Melo. I hope Russell Westbrook and Paul George have strong enough shoulders to carry you.
What do you think of this trade? Can Melo prove me wrong? Do they have any shot at beating the Golden State Warriors? Cheers!
They won't beat the Warriors, but at least now there's a little bit of a sweat. I'd root for them. Agree with you that Carmelo is kind of junk .. maybe he puts more effort in and comes closer to his potential, who knows.
I agree that he is one of the most overrated players of this generation. Sure, he'll give you 20+ points/game, but that, he doesn't offer anything else.
OKC have no shot of beating a team like GSW as the warriors play like a "team" Melo has shown he is more concerned with himself looking good rather than playing a team orientated game - so my question is now who takes a final shot of a game? melo,Russ or PG?
