SteemSports: (UFC Sacramento) Alan Jouban vs Mike Perry - Mass SP Distribution Game!

in #steemsports-ufc8 years ago (edited)

Fighter Profile: Alan Jouban

Alan 'Brahma' Jouban is the southpaw muay thai stylist training out of the legendary Black House camp in Los Angeles, California; home to former champions and legendary strikers in Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida. 'Brahma' suits his moniker well as 'brahma' means bull, and Jouban is a true Raging one. His southpaw stance and piston of a left hand has finished lesser opponents in 3 of his octagon ventures, unorthodox kicks both high and low also make appearances when Alan comes to throw down.

This bull is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under innovator and master of sport Eddie Bravo. Both his '10th planet' and 'Black House' gym influences have molded him into a very well rounded counter striker and grappler. He is a qualified welterweight who actually gets more consistent and precise as the fight goes on: against Warlley Alves and Matt Dwyer he suffered from heavy blows and take downs early...but in the 3rd round he nearly finished both men and made a name for himself in the division.

Fighter Profile: Mike "Platinum" Perry

Mike 'Platinum' Perry is an otherworldly up and comer made of something close to adamantium, and supposedly he can speak to God personally through his platinum mouthpiece. He is a very heavy hitter coming from the brawny and rough streets of Flint, Michigan. 'Platinum' is somewhat new to mixed martial arts having his first professional fight in only 2014, but this has not stopped him from making absolute waves as one of the most fun to watch prospects in the world right now.

Perry is a dazzling 9-0 with all his finishes coming by way of strikes, he still holds 0 losses which can not be said for many fighters at this top level. Perry is a FINISHER, he throws overhands rights and lefts with everything he has, and for a man with his power and size...he has incredible energy and cardio deep into the 3rd round and beyond. His UFC debut was a blistering knockout of top 15 staple Hyun Gyu Lim, and he decimated Britain's top prospect Danny Roberts in the UK with a hellacious 2 and a half round beat down ending in a frightening knockout. He is a serious guy to watch at 170, and his aggressive style makes for fight of the night every time he arrives.

The Matchup

This has potential to be the fight of the year, these are two men who get hit a lot and love to hit back. Alan Jouban will be the longer striker possessing much more technique and precision on the feet. He is more of a 'kill blow' artist, allowing his knockouts to come as he pressures opponents into a deceptively powerful left hand. His power is derived from his strong muay thai base, and he won't find himself in trouble on the ground as Perry is only a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu; at these levels of fighting, rank matters greatly.

Perry will come into this fight confident and explosive as he always does, he is a fast starter and Jouban is somewhat of a slow starter...Alan has been caught clean on the chin and dropped a good few times in his UFC tenure. Albert Tumenov exposed Jouban's weakness to a quick start and pressure against the fence, Jouban was tagged mercilessly from blind angles as Tumenov's pressure and inside boxing game overwhelmed and dismantled him.

Perry will suffocate Jouban in the octagon early as he does all his opponents, but he must be more defensive than he has shown to be in past fights because Jouban will capitalize on a finish if he smells blood. 'Platinum' seems to possess a chin of just that, platinum...and he has ridden it through his 9 fight win streak. His is a force of pure terror and rage, pain nor damage seem to effect him in the slightest as his aggression and octagon control remain the same over 15 minutes.

Expect styles to clash when Perry becomes the bull, and the 'Brahma' becomes the matador. If this fight is taken to the ground due to a big punch or takedown landing, the complexion of the fight will change radically. These are two men who will need to implement a gameplan to win; the social media drama and Jouban's sideways modeling career can be ignored as well...come Saturday, these two men will throw until they fall.
