Anna 'Panda' Elmose vs Amanada Cooper 'ABC'

Anna Elmose

Anna 'Panda' Elmose is the newest addition to the straw weight roster, and the only professional women's MMA fighter out of Denmark. She trains at the Rumble Sports gym with recent Invicta bantamweight title challenger, Pannie Kianzad.

Anna made her UFC debut as a 135 pound bantamweight fighter, but her devastating TKO loss to (arguable contender) Germaine De Randamie made her realize she is too small for that division. Anna will now fight at 115 pounds only two years and four fights after her amateur debut at 170 pounds.

This weight may bring new life to her cardio and overall ability to handle smaller women, but she may also struggle with the speed and malleability these straw weights possess on the ground. 'Panda' always used her size and strength advantage to bully and intimidate opponents, so we will see how she adjusts her game to as a lighter and faster fighter.

Amanda Cooper

Amanda Bobby Cooper, or 'ABC', is The Ultimate Fighter 23 runner-up and the 31st ranked straw weight in the UFC. She is a submission grappler with a propensity for attacking the arm. A tough loss to Tatiana Suarez in the first round of their July meeting earlier this year cost her the 'TUF' title, and showed many holes in her ground game defensively.

Amanda is an experienced veteran at this point with over 10 wins since 2011 (5 of those wins coming in amateur fights), she also has a boxing pedigree and a big right hand herself. Amanda is somewhat hittable and basic on the feet, but her grappling and takedowns from the clinch make her a threat as soon as she grabs the opponent. This is the second time we will see Amanda on the UFC's big stage, and as a growing prospect, we can expect to see new weapons in her arsenal.

The Matchup

The matchup itself is quite interesting as this will be on neutral ground. Neither girl will have the will of the people on their side as this is in Ireland, and both women's homelands are quite far away. This will come down to skill and adaptability as well as their coaches presence; seeing the camp's synergy and flow during fight week may be a big tell of how this fight plays out.

'ABC' will have the experience advantage in terms of both fights, and fights at straw weight. She is quite good off her back, but she does not take damage well and is weak to a heavy top game as she gives up positional dominance too easily. Amanda is arguably the best fighter out of her gym as well, and that is a backward step for any fighter.

Elmose will have to be aggressive with Amanda by pressing her on the ground and keeping her there. 'Panda' is relentless with ground and pound but this stylistically may play into Amanda's forceful submission game off her back. In a combined 14 wins both women have 10 finishes, they have also been finished a combined 3 times in 4 losses: these ladies will seek to end the fight by any means necessary!

This match is quite hard to call as this is as even a matchup you can get. 'Panda' Elmose should be the favorite in this battle, but there are many questions and intangibles that can not be measured until fight night. Both ladies are quite green in the game and have a lot to learn... as unpredictable as this fight may be....bet the finish!

How to Play

• Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

• Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

• After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

• The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

• 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

• 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

• Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

• Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

• Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.
