I'd prefer to see a spread, however, many people may not know what +13 and -13 means.

To solve this problem, in the comments below the team logo, you could put -13 (Alabama must win by more than 13 points.)

If using a spread, you'd have to determine what will happen should Alabama win by exactly 13 points.

  • The earnings could carry over to the next game.
  • The prize money could be split between everyone who voted
  • Rather than only having Alabama and Tennessee options, you could have a 3rd option for a "Spread-Adjusted Tie (Alabama wins by exactly 13 points)"

I like having some games without a spread, but I'd prefer the spread if there is a heavy favorite. A lot of places have Alabama -14 right now. The average money line is somewhere around -550... Using a spread adds a much needed element of uncertainty.

Agreed, I'd be okay with no spread if it's insignificant.

Notes taken... Thanks! :)

Why include the spread...? Here's my two cents...the payout schedule isn't associated with the spread, nor is our vote...we can only cast one vote per contest for one team...it would be different if we could cast 5 votes for Alabama, and the payout schedule was going to take the spread into account...we are each casting a single vote, which is all we are allowed...it should be for the winner...team stats and overall standings are not based on covering the spread either...a win is a win.

That will be taken into consideration....Just pick the team to win via a vote in the upcoming games that I cover....
