Christiano Ronaldo- Record Breaker
Christiano Ronaldo continues to be phenomenal... Putting up an outstanding performance in the champions league match against Juventus in Turin yesterday.
The Ballon d'Or winner has said that the experience of Tuesday's game was amazing after he scored a memorable double in Turin.
Cristiano Ronaldo thanked Juventus supporters for applauding his stunning overhead goal in Real Madrid's 3-0 victory in the Champions League.
Having opened the scoring inside three minutes, Ronaldo was at it again with an unforgettable bicycle kick in the second half as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner earned a standing ovation in Turin.
**It was an unbelievable moment," the 33-year-old Portuguese superstar told UEFA.com
"I have to say thank you, Grazie, to all the supporters of Juventus. What they did for me was amazing.
"This has never happened in my career so far but I'm so happy."**
Ronaldo, who admitted that he did not expect to score his bicycle kick , became the first player in Champions League history to score in 10 successive appearances as he took his tally to 39 goals across all competitions for Madrid this season.
His performance has left a lot of comments from the world of football. A lot of players and even coaches had something to say... Below are some of the comments left by individuals after the match;
Rio Ferdinard
Rio Ferdinard also had this to say concerning Ronaldo's performance:
He told BT Sport after witnessing another talismanic showing:
*“He’s phenomenal. It’s actually laughable, he’s actually taking liberties.
“He’s playing against one of the most experienced back fours on the planet and is still managing to find space in the box.
“The difference with him as well, he goes into these big massive games expecting to score.
“Others hope to score. That’s a massive difference, his mindset.”*
Barzagli
Andrea Barzagli described Cristiano Ronaldo's bicycle kick for Real Madrid against Juventus as "a PlayStation goal" that "will go down in history".
*"It was a PlayStation goal," he told Mediaset Premium . "When you play against one of the strongest in the world, you need perfection.
"As soon as you leave him something, he punishes you. He made up a goal that will go down in history. It's too bad it came against us.
"We perhaps deserved something more but we also risked conceding other goals. We accept this defeat and move on.
"When you score so many goals in the Champions League, it shows it's not just a problem for us. He's become lethal. He makes a thousand movements and always gets a goal.
"You can't do anything about it and the fans applauded him. It was perfect technique because, when you're upside down, you're not always able to hit the ball with power."*
*Barzagli was prepared to take the blame for Ronaldo's first goal, though, in which the 33-year-old prodded home after being picked out by Isco's low cross.
"I take the responsibility on myself," said the defender. "I was following Karim Benzema and Giorgio Chiellini had asked me to mark the near post*
Arbeloa
Former Real defender Arbeloa posted on social media: “Now you can leave earth and start to play against the Martians. Everything now has been done here.”
Coach Allegri
Speaking to the media post-match, Juve head coach Allegri told reporters:
*"He has been the best forward in the world in recent years. He has a clarity that nobody else has.
"The fans showed class by applauding. Football is a show and when there is a moment like this one, it is correct to applaud.
"The best two teams are Real Madrid and Barcelona because one has Ronaldo and the other has Lionel Messi, which is a major advantage."*
