Pocketsilverchallenge Then and Now (plus some other fun stuff)
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
Well actually that was only 7 months ago, and it was right here in #steemsilvergold... but i do swear a lot in the post and go out drinking with @goldenarms after a fashion. Give it a read 👆thems were the early days ‘round here...
So flash forward to today, May 16th, 2018. Here’s my current pocket piece with what turned out to be a delicious espresso:
Unfortunately GA didn’t do his patented reverse disappearing act, but you know what they say about good magicians...
So it was just me and the assassin rolling and strolling and rocking and rolling! I’ll tell ya again peeps, the JBL “Charge 3” is an amazing bluetooth speaker and phone charger. About $200cad, but i just saw one for $169.99 on a mngr.’s special a couple days ago — what a deal!
Anyway, me n Leon were listening to tunes as we went over our meticulous plan of attack:
- Go to J&M
- Buy some fucking silver
- Get some lunch
With the details all worked out and the Stackitus coming on strong, we got buzzed into the purloinerie. Leon went into a deep trance — the stackitus can be hard on a toddler! I checked his vitals and quickly realized that though his iron was okay, his silver levels were conspicuously low. Better get some fresh shiny into this kid asap.
I bought some more Cad halves’cause they let me pick through the box — this is rare for J&m — and so i scooped up all the Georges but 1 nasty looking one, and a short stack of ‘ young Elizabeths.’ 13 coins for $100cad on the nose. I thought i might’ve been done, but then i saw a “trade unit” i liked and figured $23cad over budget wasn’t too bad... but then, i spied something else that i hadn’t seen before (at J&M at least): 1/10th oz Ag Walking Liberty rounds. “Sigh...” there was no point in trying to figure out how many to leave behind so i took all 20 of them and told them to cut me off!
Wanna’ see?
We got home in a jiffy and i started emptying my cargo shorts on the table which inspired me to do a #pocketdump — ‘cause why the hell not?
There’s my pocket piece in the centre, above Elvis’ knife, there’s some Philipino Marbs my partner brought back with the lovely picture inked out , over there a multi charger, over there my shades and wallet, a couple of bags of shiny and some other miscellany...
Here’s the silver up close and personal.
First the halves:
A couple of ‘em were nice and shiny — oooh... shiny!
Then the generic 1ozer:
And finally 2oz of the good stuff split into 1/10ths
Maybe i’m high, but it seems like the silver is trying to tell me something... or maybe it’s trying to tell you something... and maybe that something is: whip it out and take a pic!
Cheers! from @thedamus

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
Nice pocket full bro!
I'm just chillin, with some vittles on the griddle.
Oh man!!! I just went zero to starving in under 3 seconds!
You are a stackin maniac my friend. BAM take that shit brother!!!👊🏻😎🤙🏻👀
Cheers bro! You get any mail today? 😜👍
Nothing but bills brother. You want them?
Crap... no thanks man, got a big stack of ‘em already 😣🤬😜🤣
Fishbone!! 😀
Bonin’ in the bone-yard!!!
I got the same Irish coin, not as a pocket piece, but as my late Father's/grandfather's stack they passed on to me. Stackitis seems to be a generational thing with me.
I like the coin cause it reminds me of me dear ol’ da, and Grand da too (both Irishmen) and also, ‘cause it reminds me to crack a Guinness!
😜👍
Steemslivergold taking over the world great job @thedamus
Cheers double 0!
If you go a little over budget, that is perfectly okay. Especially with the haul you made. Those 1/10 ozers look really nice. Nice job TD!
Cheers pal! I like ‘em plenty 🤘😁
some cool lookin' coins
Thanks csd! It was fun to get some fractionals today, and i’m a sucker for old halves Cad or US.
That is a hefty pocket full. Close call with the child stackitis, it sneaks up quick on the little ones. :)
🤣🤣🤣 i gotta’ put a couple ounces in the diaper bag in case of emergency 😜
😂😂😂 Good thing!
Very interesting these 1/10oz Walking Liberty rounds.Good condition and no toning. Usually these fractionals come with a not small premium.
They worked out to $35 per ounce ($3.50 per round), so a fair primo i’d say in this instance. They are not so much to just “add weight” i also like them — and they’ll make cool presents too!
😜👍
There's almost always a premium with little bars or rounds, but they're cool. I have an order of little gram bars in mind from of all places Amazon. There's a really hefty premium on them, about spot +100%. But super cool to have and give away.
You’re an inspiration Elvis!
😜👍
