New and Improved Pocket-Change Theory
Hi friends!
Well, i’m Back from a wonderful getaway to Vancouver Island.
And I had me some time to give a think about pocketchange and indeed, cash in general. Now if the phrase “war on cash” does not ring any bells for you, then you may not be interested. However, if you know what i’m talking about then read on. Or, as it were, have a look at this photo, and then read on.
Wha!? Huh!!!? The new coffee-shop and cinnamon roll spot that has just opened up in my neighbourhood DOES NOT ACCEPT CASH!!!

They accept interac, mobile pay, and visa etc., but no soup for you if all you have is cash. I am sure this is only the beginning because as I read somewhere recently, when it come to utility and human interaction we will ALWAYS choose the superior form of payment. This is why we went from clamshells, to chickens, to goats, beads, coins, paper money, and finally to electronic fiat payments, which is where we are now... But this is also why we are about to fully embrace crypto currency. Simply put: it is a far superior form of payment, as well as a store of value — or at least I think so.
So, what is the new and improved version of the pocket-change theory? It’s simple: unless it’s made out of silver or gold, SELL THAT SHIT AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Take whatever “cash” you get for it and buy precious metals or bitcoin (Ltc, Dash, etc.)
In my opinion, pocketchange is going the way of the dodo bird. Here in Canada we have already stopped using the penny for any kind of commerce. Shops and restaurants and every other kind of business (that still accepts cash) will round up or down to the nearest nickel. How long will it be before things are rounded to the dollar?
Certainly we are not going to go backwards and decide that physical coins are the way to go, and that all we have to do is revalue them x10 or x100 or whatever. Everybody knows what a perfect pain in the ass it is to have a pocketful of shrapnel! So in my opinion, the ease, speed and utility of cryptocurrency (and that’s not to mention the utility of micro-payments) is so far superior than exchanging cash — even in its electronic form — that this is surely the future. As well, there is no vampire-squid sucking the value out of the cash in circulation by printing more!
So, wanna’ be on the right side of history? Then turn your dimes into dollars and trade them for something better.

Crazy stuff... I haven't seen any 'no cash' places yet. We still have a few 'cash only' places in my neck of the woods. Looks like you had a nice getaway!
The only places around here that are cash only are the weed stores, i was surprised to see it too.
Poor beggars, street musicians, street entertainers, underbanked and the like are gonna be in a tough spot now that they have to get a Moneris card reader at $200, business account at $50/month and an Internet hookup.

They talked about doing the same as Canada in the US with the penny a bunch already here. To many truest stopped it from ever becoming fruition. But it’s not long before it just happens.
I still like old pennies, but the newest ones we had a few years back were utter crap. I mean, ffs, grab a new us penny, they literally seem like a token for actual money...

You are SO right about Gold, Silver, and Cryptos.
I feel it's important for me to get this prediction onto the blockchain BEFORE it happens, so here goes:
By the end of 2019, I believe we will see silver go above $80. The Dow Jones will drop to (or below) 15,000. I have no idea where Cryptos and Gold will be at, except that they will be much higher than they are today.
Now, if we could just get Democrats and Republicans to hold hands and sing Kum-Bye-Yah...
I like the way you think 👍 but I think $80 silver by the end of the year is unlikely — unless all 4 wheels fall off the cart.
As far as D’s and R’s getting along, both parties would be wise to cease the mudslinging.
The dollar illusion can not last much longer. The U.S. is complete toast. By exponents, Boeing is our #1 exporter, and their recent 737 scandal & their groundings will be the final nail in the coffin of any trade agreement with China. Nobody wants our commercial airplanes any more - they kill plane-fulls of people! Many countries are now trading oil without the US Petrodollar - because it is rapidly being abandoned. The lowering of interest rates, followed by money printing will play out near the end of this year. It will not work - at least not for very long. After that, precious metal manipulation/suppression will come to an end. My timing is probably off - but it's not long now. As soon as the interest rates get cut, and they do QE-infinity, the dollar will be abandoned. The end of 2019, beginning of 2020. 2021 will definitely be a good year for goldbugs. Sure, it's possible the FED will continue to astound us with their ability to keep on bringing back the economy - but it's basically just the same as a brain-dead, comatose patient who's being kept alive on a breathing machine. It's well past time to pull the plug, and more and more people are beginning to realize that.
