Nothing To See Here...
Just Wednesday things...
I don't know what rock I've been living under, but I just discovered "the pickleback" a few weeks ago... Its a shot of whiskey followed by a shot of pickle brine... Definitely my preferred way to get a nip of whiskey without feeling like a total alcy...
It also helps me feel like less of a weirdo for taking a swig of straight pickle brine... Which actually has some decent benefits especially when dealing with sore/cramping muscles.
The knife and USS Constitution were just there to sharpen things up a little and make sure this post had a surefire way to sail into the #steemsilvergold tag... (see what I did there!?)
P.S. I don't know if it was the pickle juice chaser or the silver shooter, but the shot of JD tasted better than normal (I'm not a huge JD fan) further testing will be required!
Silver always sharpen things :)
Brings out the best!
Love the silver shooter @stnwllstrtgc. It looks even better with some whiskey in it. Cool post, cool photo.
Yea it looks real good with some brown liquor in it!
I bet someone could make bank just pouring those shot glasses..... Flipping great for stackers and drinkers! Might have to make my own one day....
You definitely should dude! This one needs a companion ;)
Lol I love that silver shot glass, will look really nice , with a nice bottle of Hennessy ... but I’ll probably won’t stop drinking from it and always want to drink more and more lol
I'm not gonna lie there has been a time or two when I've looked in my liquor cabinet and ended up doing a small shot just to use the silver shooter, haha
Lol when I saw the pic I thought you were about to tone the coin with liver of sulphur! I haven't tried a pickle back but they sound good, perfect for breakfast after a heavy night :-)
Yep! Def. good for that!
Give me that shot glass ''please''. You can keep the pickle juice. Enjoy
Look up Chirostacktor on Instagram and pick one up!
That just sounds like an awful idea for a drink, kinda like dipping French fries into your coffee, but if it works it works. Now if I ever find myself with whisky in hand and a jar full of brine water I will have to try it lol
Haha, It requires that you like whiskey and pickles! Its a bit strange, but it cuts the whiskey burn/after taste right out which makes it good for "lesser" whiskeys... I don't need or want a chaser with a good bourbon or scotch, but sometimes the cheaper stuff just needs to be chased!
I have also heard it can help prevent a hangover, but haven't shot enough in a night to know if thats true or not haha.
There maybe some truth in that about the hangover as a lot of hangover symptoms are caused by dehydration and the salt in brine will aid water retention a little bit.
I have never heard of a shot of whiskey followed by pickle brine. I love whiskey and i love pickles. This sounds amazing. I will try it tonight. Thanks for the info. Great post!
Its a pretty tasty little combo! Let us know what you think!
What's the whisky to pickle juice ratio? It looks like there is a fair bit of juice in that glass.
I guess the "standard" would be just a regular shot of each... But that silver shooter is a little on the small side and I kind of overpoured the pickle juice into the normal glass... I just rolled with it, but it was definitely a fairly big gulp of juice, haha
