Official #Steemsilvergold Monday Membership Update Post - Week 42
Monday again folks and time to post the #steemsilvergold membership ship list. Is it just me are does it feel like SSG are steemit in general is fading away? I looks like we are only seeing half the activity we normally see in terms of commenting in particular. When I check the tag I can see members are still posting as normal and everyone is upvoting each other which is awesome to see but I see a lack of comments and actual interaction. As the community grows a few members every week, we are starting to divide a little. It's only normal for this to happen as communities get bigger but I thought we were still in the safe zone under 200-250 members to keep it close nit. I have been doing the membership list every week for around a year and sometimes I need to double check if someone is a member are not. We have a few members here for Precious and a lot of leftover members from the days of Stax. I can say leftover members with no guilt because they are not even active on the platform any more. There has been talk about another culling but just talk and no community vote is required yet. Membership cuts are abit of a nightmare so maybe in a few more months and we go down that road unless it's called for by members sooner.

I second the nom. I've actually met him IRL, he's a good cat and does have a collection. He would bring a neat aspect as he also likes paper currencies.

yes its fading but looks loke everyone is in SSG! lol
there are more people in discord which is nice to see and more people from other groups joining too. so guess as long as ssg keeps a tive thats good, right?
The discord always surprises me. When i compare it to others, the #steemsilvergold is very active.
I set it up almost a year back and to be honest, runs completely by itself, no work needed at all. I would like to add some sort of bot's to the server but i think leaving it simple is maybe best.
its been more active the last 3-4 months before that ded. you are bringing in a lot more alliance folks so that makes sense and those that are on discord all day that makes a diff. ultimately it looks like you are running things that is best for your sched and how you feel is ok so just do you ... i was away for 6 weeks due to moves and major fam issues and was booted off so i would only request Letting us all know in a dm if there was gonna be a major vote and change? im all over the place so seeing everything is not easy.
I've been noticing a drop in interactions too. I bet if STEEM get's a bump, all sorts of enthusiasm will suddenly appear!
That would sort out alot of problems. That time will come again, its just what do we do while were waiting for it? haha
I think a culling should be on the cards, but maybe at a set period of time, maybe every 3 months

3 months is hard work.
98% are cool with regular culling's and this time round it should be more easy as no one is fighting for a 1% Precious upvote. If we're able to get down to only proper active members, we could add the free upvote back in. I honstly think we have 50 active members adn about 20% ave commented in this post
Cull the weaksorry, my viking ancestry got the best of me 😜I hope it's just the steem fatigue / "i was promised a fortune for blogging" and that everyone can get back on the bandwagon again (or leave, depending on what they were here for), but that may just be a tad optimistic.

a culling will go my friend but maybe not for another few weeks plus we need to give some weeks of notice also to give members a chance to catch up if needed.
Precious is the retard baby child bot of @buggedout, @raybrockman, @thedamus, @welshstacker and silverstackeruk. We had a community bot before but the owner screwed us over and the community disowned it and 3 days later, Precious was born. The rest is history:)
After xmas and New years’ hoo-haw is when we should have a revisit... imo
SSG Participation ought to be easily gauged at that time. TD
Need to ask Uncle Bugged for some code to help us. After xmas does sound ideal for me after we 'maybe' get another MONSTER RAFFLE done.
I did a review of the membership for myself a month ago - it was eye opening to see how many people had not posted or commented in months, and a decent handful of people who had no interaction with SSG in either posts or comments. We may have a decent sized groups, but many are no longer active in the community.
I bet you were thinking maybe 20-30 would need cut but the number came back alot bigger. haha
Last cull we did it based on either 2 posts per month are 10 comments. I honestly think we have a community of stackers 50 members strong at best.
Your pretty much spot on. The other hard part is - you know people and want to make exceptions - but doing so opens the door for others opinion of who should get an exception.
There is definitely a small click of hardcore and active stackers.
This is what happened last time man and then we had to make a grey area.
Hard to know what's best. Good thing we can put everything to a community vote :)

SSUK, I think part of the reason we're not seeing as much commenting is that it costs a lot of RCs to drop a line. Personally, I'm sitting around 12% RCs after letting it recharge for the night, so I can't do as much commenting as I'd like. Could be that other people are in the same lifeboat. I'm powering up as much as I can to get a faster rate of RC recharge. Hopefully things will improve soon.
I hope that is the reason, im still not to sure about RC's. I tried to delegate some SP the other day and it said i had not enough RC's even when it said i had 70-80% on steemnow. Just another thing to get used to i guess.
