My favorite silver coin S&G Contest
@generation.easy is having as show you favorite gold or silver contest. An amazing idea and what a good time for me to show off my own favorite silver coins.
I was looking for a coin to celebrate giving up smoking, something out of the ordinary and one that spoke to me, inspired me and marked such an achievent.
In 2015 the TEMPLE OF HEAVEN Beijing 4 Layer Antique Finish Silver Coin 20$ Cook Islands coin was released and it just screamed me me me, reading about the temple of heaven just confirmed that this was to be the coin, sacrifices were made in the Temple of Heaven to pray for a good harvest, i had given up smoking for a good harvest (stacking silver, more addictive than nicotine, its official) and since i gave up smoking i have been having a good harvest and many of the coins in my collection would be smoke rings instead.
The second release marking 2 years smoke free was the celing of St Peters Basilica, mintage of 999 like the Temple of Heaven and 100g of stunning antique finish silver.
3rd coin in the series is the US Capitol Building.
I cant wait to see what will be next in the series and so thankful i was able to kick the habbit, like i said so many coins would be missing from my collection. I wrote myself a letter asking me for just 1 favour in life and that was to give up smoking and why i wanted to and what i would achieve without cigarettes and im reaping the rewards. These coins are marker stones on my wonderful journey.
Anyway i look forward to seeing everyones favorite coins and feel my poor ol bank account shake in fear at the impending purchase that i will inevitably get pumped into making :)

Cheers goldenarms, prob been able to spend an extra £4,000 over past 3 years on coins that would have previously gone.....poof!

Couldn't work out what was happening, every time i invested in 100g of tobacco my investment went to zero, im sure i was on to a winner and persevered for over 20 years but the same thing kept happening.
Those are gorgeous man, I can't believe the amazing depth to them. They really pop it looks like you could just fall into them, and great rewards and story for quiting smoking.
To think if i had still been smoking i wouldnt have these, the money would just be burnt away, there is alot of depth to them, dont really iunderstand what 4 layer minting is but the effect does lead your eyes on a merry dance.

I sometimes get them out and just stare at them like staring up at the celing, less cobwebs on them than my celing.

You know the St Peters Basilica is stunning, think its the least popular and i bought it on ebay when they werent being bid on, paid the least for that one but its prob the more interesting design.
