“Silver Adventures”- Captain Joshua Slane – 09MY20- ‘Oh, God! If ever there was a day you planned on helping me...!’

[Last time...]
All bets were off now as the Errislravenhill dashed towards the boat! She quickly untied its lead-line and pushed with all her might…but… the big longboat didn’t budge!

[South shore of Montagnais Village...]
Petty Officer - Yeoman Ickied, Seaman- Gunsmiths Urie, Endrikdegrote
and Ombstone, Seaman- Quarter Gunner Oblinknackers, an’ Seaman- Carpenter's Crew Ostpromoter ran like they had never ran before!
Far down the shoreline, the small figure of Petty Officer – Caulker Errislravenhill struggled against the dark shadow of the longboat.
“Hurry men! Givs it aw’ ye'v got! Errisl's in danger!" Ickied cried out as he sprinted.
Just down the shore, the first warrior was making his way back towards the boat when he spotted the lone Petty Officer, struggling to get the longboat into water. Holding his tomahawk tightly, he broke into a run as he called out for his companion!
Errislravenhill glanced north and then set against the longboat with even more fury as she tried in vain to break it free from the mucky shore and out onto open water!
“Och, Gawd! If e’er thaur was a day ye planned oan helpin’ me...this woold be a guid one!" She muttered as she shoved with all her might.
But time was not on her side…the fast running warrior let out a war hoop at just ten feet away from her and swing his tomahawk in a high arc over his head.
In a last act of defense, the gallant officer turned quickly to her left and had just enough time to raise one arm to try and soften the blow!
The evening’s silence was shattered by the deafening roar of Scottish musketfire!
Forty feet to the south, Ickied stood steady in a plume of white smoke, his musket level and locked on its target!
As the ball tore through flesh and bone, the tall Montagnais warrior fell hard upon Errislravenhill, and she heard his last gasping breath in her ear as he sank dead upon the sand beside her…
