The ORIGINAL Phoenix design
TIME TO PICK THIS YEAR’S STEEM SILVER ROUND!
Voting has been going strong on this year’s steem round. Voting round two is set to begin in just a couple of days. @raybrockman has suggested the top three designs will move on to a final face off.
See the original voting post HERE
Well right now my design (THE FIRST PHOENIX entered into the competition) is coming third. 😃
@welshstacker also entered a Phoenix (his is in the lead) and @edxserverus designed an amazing shield that is coming in at number 2.
Now both of these fellows have an advantage because they have used software to make their designs look like actual coins. It is of course easier to picture how cool a design will look with that sort of finishing touch.
EDIT: Thanks to fellow entrant @edxserverus I now have a rendering of my design that looks like a coin. THANK YOU!
This is my last ditch effort to find some love for my little underdog. 😊
HERE is the post I originally did for my design. The description below came from this post.
Here we have a phoenix rising from the ashes. Steem value was low, hard fork 20 got us down, but as we all keep steeming ahead, Steem will rise to bigger and better things.
The words at the top of the round are from Seneca, a Roman philosopher/statesman. Ignis aurum probat, miseria fortes homines. In English this translates to:
“As gold is tempered by fire, so strong men are tempered by suffering". The meaning is that in order to become pure gold, the original gold-bearing ore must go through the tempering process of fire; the analogy being that for a man strong in spirit, adversity and suffering are the tempering agents necessary to refine his character and bring out his true potential. Source
In the case of Steem and Steemit, there have been challenges, but ultimately our communities have become stronger as a result. ☺️
When the next round of voting begins I will add a link HERE.
Kapow! Voting is open. ☺️
How do I envision this as a coin?
I picture the phoenix, the flames and the circular part of the steem logo shiny and raised from the background. The stars within the logo and background would hopefully be frosted. The words along the edge would be engraved and shiny as would the border line between the words and main image.
And for those of you who need a refresher...
What is the Steem Round?
Two years ago steem silver gold community member @sevinwilson had a brilliant idea! He suggested the community should design a one ounce silver round especially for Steemit. Designs were submitted. Votes were cast and the round was made. 1500 were minted and they sold like hot cakes. In 2018 the whole process was repeated.
2017 and 2018 Rounds
Top round designed by @bearone, bottom round designed by @welshstacker
As @welshstacker suggested after sharing his phoenix, I do like the idea of the steem silver round being a series with each representing an element. (Water year one, earth year two, and maybe fire this year. 🔥😊) However, I also like the idea of different artists being represented each year. 😁
How dumb that somehow there are multiple phoenixes in this year’s design competition! 🤣😂🤣😂
Vote for this one!
The OG, ORIGINAL, FIRST IN THE COMPETITION Phoenix. 😄
Tons of great designs came out this year. To be honest, with the slowdown on Steemit I had been worried there wouldn’t be many designs submitted. But we came through again! 🎉
Regardless of the design chosen in the end, I am super excited to get this year’s Steem Round. I know it will be an awesome addition to an already awesome series!

I didn't know you were the one to come up with the Phoenix design. Very cool... er very hot!
Unbeknownst to one another Welsh and I had the same idea. I posted mine and then he commented to me in discord.
How dumb are we all up in each other’s brains?!!
