Stackitus Explosion Part 1 of 4 - Birthday

in #steemsilvergold6 years ago

Is it Stackitus if you are administering a constant flow of meds to lessen the symptoms?

Is it only stackitus when you are suffering, crazed to get your next fix?

Is stackitus like alcoholism? You’re fine... going along... not giving into the urges... but then the decision to “just get one” turns into a exponential increase in the size of your stack?

Are my dogs ashamed or basking in the shiney Scrooge McDuck style?

This week I fell WAAAAAY off the wagon.

By the time the mailman arrives I’ll be in for 22 fresh oz. for the stack.

Part One: Birthday Gifts

The gift stack.

I was fortunate to complete another year on the earth a couple days back. In celebration I was gifted some shiney loot as a reward. ☺️Let’s take a closer look at the hub’s contribution to my affliction. Sure it came out of our joint savings! But since I didn’t make the actual purchase it feels FREE to me. 😄

Coin One: 2018 Republic of Chad - Silver Mandala Lion (BU) 1oz

This coin is the first in a series of mandala coins from the Republic of Chad. Each subsequent release in this series will feature a different animal. The coin is .999 pure with a mintage of only 15,000.

According to APMEX.com:

The reverse features the coat of arms of the Republic of Chad, a shield that is supported by a goat and lion on either side. Below the shield is a medal and scroll with the national motto in French, "Unite, Travail, Progres", meaning Unity, Work, Progress in English.

Coin Two: 2018 Saint Helena -Spade Guinea Shield (BU) 1oz

Guineas (a coin) were first struck in the 1600’s and were quickly accepted around the world due to Britain’s colonial power. The spade (or shield) was engraved into the guinea in the 1700’s during the reign of King George III.

According to APMEx.com the spade

symbolizes England and Scotland, France, Ireland and the German possession of the Hanoverian dynasty. Scotland and England were merged to form Great Britain, which is represented by three lions that symbolize England, Normandy, and Aquitaine and the standing lion which represents Scotland. The Royal Arms also had the Arms of France until 1801, which is represented with three Gold fleurs-de-lis on a blue background, symbolizing the king's approved right to rule. The Ireland coat of arms is symbolized my a Gold harp with Silver strings. The Hanover coat of Arms included an addition in 1714 of a galloping horse on the lowest part, representing Hanover. The English and Scottish lions remained side by side. These four coat of Arms join together to create the Spade Guinea design featured on this coin.

Coin Three: 2016 Australian Kookaburra (BU) 1oz

So I lived in Australia and the Perth Mint puts out beautiful coins. How could I not want this in my collection? Plus, I already had 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. This may not be the full run, but I couldn’t just leave my series with a hole. The 2016 Kookaburra is .999 pure with a mintage of 500,000. The Kookaburra is famous for it’s “laught” and is one of Australia’s most iconic birds.

Coin Four: 2018 Landmarks of Britain- Trafalgar Square (BU) 1oz

I love a travel coin and this certainly qualifies. This coin is the third in the Landmarks of Britain series. Following on the success of the Big Ben and Tower of London coins, the Trafalgar Square coin commemorates one of the most famous spots in central London. The coin itself is .999 pure and has a limited mintage of 50,000. I really love this Royal Mint series and plan to collect the rest as they are released.

Coin Five: 2018 St. Kitts & Nevis - Pelican (BU) 1oz

Rhe St. Kitts & Nevis Pelican is the second in a series from the Easten Caribbean Central Bank. Eight coins are scheduled to be released in this series. Each will represent a different Caribbean nation. Two more coins in this series are scheduled for a 2018 release. Each is .999 pure with a mintage of only 25,000.

Keep on Stackin’!

OMG how did I miss this? Its been cray week but its nice to see someone else documenting binge buying!! I like the Lion from the republic of chad.

You know it’s funny you say this cause I have missed posts too lately and been super confused. Steemit isn’t suppose to have one of those Facebook/Instagram algorithms. I forget who it was the other day.... I floated over to their profile having not heard from them in a bit and they had posts.

Lol. I felt like YOU as I was having my binge. You went way deeper with the 60+ ounces! 😄

I like the Caribbean series. The Chad might be a beautiful series too.

The Caribbean series is fun. A little different, though I think they led the series with their best designs... Each provides a nice little flavor of each country.

As for the lion, I didn’t realize it was going to be a series when I added it to my b-day list. I am interested to see what other animals will be featured. Not sure they will all lend themselves to the mandala shape. It will be interesting to see.

A late happy birthday and full upvote

Beautiful Silver and I like the Mandala Lion for future Appreciation.........@dfinney

If there are two things I know about @stokjockey....

  1. He loves rock n’ roll (especially at night)...
  2. He also loves a low mintage.

☺️
