in my mail, from this weekend!

Hello, #steemsilvergold and the @ssg-community! I haven't had too much to post about lately, but check this out...

A few weeks ago, @mrs-v posted about an arrowhead pour project her and @mr-vulcan were doing for their friend/neighbor. Link for background:
https://steemit.com/steemsilvergold/@mrs-v/the-howard-project

I had commented in that post how I really liked the arrowheads and asked if they would consider doing some additional ones for me. Then, after few brief email exchanges, a package quickly arrived the other day, and here it is!

First, some unexpected old coins. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. V!
A 1968 Swiss franc, a US 1921 nickel, a US 1964 dime,

and a wooden nickel too!

Hello, to Dick's Bar And Grill!

The coins were a random and cool surprise with my order! I really like old interesting coins, and this is also my first 'Rosie' to add into my American silver collection.

. . .

So, what's in the box?

A Vulcan poured silver arrowhead!

But wait, there's more! I could not decide on just one, out of the dozen or so different arrowheads they had, so I had seven made... One larger one, and two each of three different smaller ones.

The information I got from Mrs. Vulcan, was that the original arrowheads were found by a friend of theirs on a riverbed, while he was panning for gold in Oregon. They are possibly Native American, and they're presumed to be up to one hundred years old. They are made out of obsidian.

The circled ones are the ones I chose out of the bunch (image source: https://steemit.com/steemsilvergold/@mrs-v/the-howard-project)

It's interesting to think about how these hand chipped artifacts were made, using Stone Age technology to make survival tools. And then, maybe about a century later, they were found by someone and given a second life by being replicated into solid silver art with the Iron Age skill of hand pouring metal. (For their next generation, I'll have to laser-scan them and print out 3D copies made of carbon fiber or transparent resin or something, lol)

Here they are with different color filters to show off the nooks and chip marks...

This set of seven pieces is a total of 4.2 ozt.

here are some close ups...

These are so cool; I plan to mount them into a wall display as some sort of artwork piece (I will make a future post when I get that done). For now, they will occupy my display case with some of my other collectable silver pieces.

I think the Vulcan's did an excellent job on these hand poured silver arrowheads, and I am already starting to get an idea for a possible new order from them in a few months for something unique, so stay tuned!

That's it for today... Thank you for visiting!

It is good to see you back. I was missing your posts.
Amazing work! I love the Vulcans' works.

Thanks for stopping by @ronaldoavelino, I haven't really left, I have just been in read-only mode lately. I recently had an illness and then re-tore my left shoulder's rotator cuff muscles somehow, again... so, typing has been a pain. and depression is a motherfucker.

Those arrowheads are badass! The obsidian and silver ones. Can't decide which I like better. Very cool, thanks for sharing these @cyber.explorer.

thanks for checking them out @vgholdingsllc, yeah, I would love to also get a hold of some like the originals ones. I like to decorate my house with native, indigenous and primitive artwork things, and these fit right in with that motif.

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

Thank you. Glad you were happy with the arrowheads.

Yes, thank you, I love them!

Wow, those are so cool! They look almost kinda like foil, lol, but really cool. I bet it would be even more awesome to hold them and actually feel them. You're making me want to buy some, lol

yes, they are really shiny! I was thinking if I should antique them a bit to give them an aged look, I can't decide...

I do like to handle them though, they have a nice heavy weight for their size, and also the edges (while not sharp on these) are kind of serrated, and you can feel why the original obsidian ones would make a very efficient hunting tool.
