Hello, #steemsilvergold and the @ssg-community! I haven't had too much to post about lately, but check this out...

A few weeks ago, @mrs-v posted about an arrowhead pour project her and @mr-vulcan were doing for their friend/neighbor. Link for background:

I had commented in that post how I really liked the arrowheads and asked if they would consider doing some additional ones for me. Then, after few brief email exchanges, a package quickly arrived the other day, and here it is!

First, some unexpected old coins. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. V! A 1968 Swiss franc, a US 1921 nickel, a US 1964 dime,

and a wooden nickel too!

The coins were a random and cool surprise with my order! I really like old interesting coins, and this is also my first 'Rosie' to add into my American silver collection.

So, what's in the box?
A Vulcan poured silver arrowhead!
But wait, there's more! I could not decide on just one, out of the dozen or so different arrowheads they had, so I had seven made... One larger one, and two each of three different smaller ones.

The information I got from Mrs. Vulcan, was that the original arrowheads were found by a friend of theirs on a riverbed, while he was panning for gold in Oregon. They are possibly Native American, and they're presumed to be up to one hundred years old. They are made out of obsidian.

It's interesting to think about how these hand chipped artifacts were made, using Stone Age technology to make survival tools. And then, maybe about a century later, they were found by someone and given a second life by being replicated into solid silver art with the Iron Age skill of hand pouring metal. (For their next generation, I'll have to laser-scan them and print out 3D copies made of carbon fiber or transparent resin or something, lol)

This set of seven pieces is a total of 4.2 ozt.

These are so cool; I plan to mount them into a wall display as some sort of artwork piece (I will make a future post when I get that done). For now, they will occupy my display case with some of my other collectable silver pieces.
I think the Vulcan's did an excellent job on these hand poured silver arrowheads, and I am already starting to get an idea for a possible new order from them in a few months for something unique, so stay tuned!
