Trying Something New 🔥
Well some of you already know, but, I have been wanting to try something new lately. Ever since the guys from #metalsmafia showed up I wanted to pour my own silver. Well after talking to them for weeks and asking a ton of questions I picked this up.
Well next I had to get a good torch! This one was suggested to me by @mr-vulcan because you don't have to hold the can upside down. Also the MAP gas I was told was key 😉
Today was mostly a cool leaning experience. My buddy @dktrix and I both gave it a shot. The first thing I learned is this is gonna take some practice.... 😁
To Be Continued...
This fucking rules shippie! I’m hot on your tail :)
Way to go man, way to just fucking do it!!!
Thanks bro! It's alot of fun but those mafia guys make it look way easier than it is.
That’s how ya know they’re pros!
Very cool man! Make sure you season the crucible with the flux. You can find videos on YouTube on how to do that. Be careful and have fun. 👍🏻 I looked at your photo again and looks like you did a great job getting the crucible ready.
Thank you! I went to YouTube to find a video. Guess who's I just so happened to click on 😉
Good syuff man. You will be rocking the Mafia flag in no time 😁
Awesome!! You're a step ahead of me. Still waiting for my crucible to turn up.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Hope you're ready for the learning curve bro. Just wait till you see the first couple lol
Now the "lol" leads me to think it's gone incredible well or incredibly bad......
Sounds like you had a blast regardless
Holy shit, this gonna be good. All in suspense over here...
Just remember this is round one. I see alot of practice in my future.
Great start brother! Looks like your set up real nice. Keep Can’t wait to see what you make👍🏼🍺🥓
Oh my you just –yep! I love seeing things like this develop over time. Looking forward to next parts and learning experience that comes from it!
That looks like a lot of fun since I assume you can melt it back down as many times as you like as you try new things.
Yep definitely learned some things. And yes I can melt it over and over again! Luckily Iol
I go to do a few weeks apprenticeship with a silversmith in my youth, it would be fun to get back into. Can't wait to see your creations!
That sounds like a good experience!
very cool!. I think Ill be trying this in the summer as well, I have some scrap sterling and scrap gold jewelry to melt up. what a nice art bar your melting!
I'm wondering if these near 0 degree f days made it harder. Also I thought it was a nice bar as well but that one was donated by my buddy because he got it at spot. Just wait till you see what I melted lol
Ha ha. That's awesome, is that no matter what shape or how it looks, it's still silver, and worth the same! Good for you for just going for it as well!
Things are about to get hot and shiny in here, a ton of new pourers about to start melting liquid silver!! 🔥🔥
