The unwanted
Our consumerist society is dropping the value we put on things... and on people.
We are throwing things away in an unprecedented rhythm, we don't care about anything generally because the store in the corner or the hypermarket on the outskirts of the city is selling to us everything. Today is Valentine's so love is for sale as well... not that in the rest of the year it wasn't but today is being advertised.
The abandoned things that I meet with are fascinating for me. As long as they are still there, in the place where they were abandoned, in my mind they still have life and a purpose. Those things age differently than when they are owned by someone. Nature is putting its soft touch on them year after year and to me, this seems much more normal than a human hand taking care of them in order not to show their age.
Look in the picture above. What a nice and interesting development solution this little plant found.
It developed on the FUCKING TAXI THAT MY NEIGHBOUR ABANDONED IN FRONT OF OUR BUILDING FOR MONTHS!
This motherfucker abandoned the car with which he made probably over 1 million kilometres in the front of the common building, just because he could and probably imagining that blocking a parking space with a shipwreck is both legal and moral. The plant appeared, it went green and has grown almost up to the window. At one moment in time, I imagined that this prick didn't abandon the car but he rather decided to make some weed plantation or something like this, on top of it. For the whole summer, this plant grew on the abandoned car with the left front window opened 10 inches.
Did it rain inside? Of course, it did, but who the fuck cared about it. I suppose that it had enough water in it in order to hydrate the plants that were growing on it.
Now the City Hall finally decided to push the owner of this abandoned vehicle to move it somewhere that it's not on public property so they've put a notice on the windshield and gave the idiot some days to comply.
And he did...
He moved the car from the front of the building to the back of it. Smart move what can I say? As long as the stupid pricks in the City Hall allow this and their brain is working only on the front of the buildings, then I guess this taxi driver outsmarted them.
The plant?
Still there, though now it's a little bit more brownish but hey! it's wintertime. I guess that in the spring it will come back to life and it will continue to grow. Give it a few years and if he will repair the car he will be able to move with it and with the new tree growing on top of it. I guess it's maybe an economical strategy as wood these days is very expensive...
...and being Valentine's day, I suppose wood is hard to get as well...
At least he has winter tires :))
from 7 winters ago... :))
old and salted :))
